It will surely make very head turn !!

I would take a black Optra 1.6 loaded with all the goodies GM gives, it's great value, the car feels super-posh. I would keep the car for five years, don't get hung up on re-sale, the enjoyment I would get is beyond rupees and paise. Bling!

One caveat - make sure you get the "free service/parts for three years" scheme that GM is/was offering.

Yes, I too have inclined towards Optra- the Royale variant.

The website says 'Ex Showroom Price (Delhi) INR 914003'. Has it gone below further?... Anyway, I can find it out this weekend.

Thank you guys!

Bingo Esteem Lover, just my thought!

Animdas, i think u should take the SRV for a spin and see, heard its very nice and handles great. seen a few on roads in hyd, and they sure looked yummy! very stylish, big insides, less of boot (u really need a big boot?).

Resale..hmm. well thats surely going to be bad for the SRV. if u plan to keep it for more than 4-5 years, then dun think much of the resale, as by then u will have enjoyed the car thoroughly.

Will ur boss give u the Corvett too if u ask him a bit more politely?

Anim - Don't know about the Royale version but newspapers here have been full of ads of the Optra 1.6 at 7.25L Ex-showroom (I think) and that's why I said reduced prices & good value.

At 9L odd (Ex-showroom) it's simply ridiculous and simply not worth it. If you have that kind of budget you should look at the Corolla/Elantra.

Hmm, probably going for Royale- it's 10.3L On-Road. Plus I'll get some 5-7% discount on factory price!

The SRV appears to be sl-i-ghtly narrower and (as mentioned here) with less boot space.

You have mentioned resale value as one of your criteria, well be warned about the optra royale you are sure to loose lots of money in terms of resale value.

Why do you want to buy the Royale?? Is it for the extra toys? If yes I'm sure you can get these fitted after market & save yourselves a LOT of money in the process.

Reason I say this is because for that kind of money you can buy yourselves a new Corolla and at this price the Optra does not make any sense.

Probably we are getting deviated from the user's perspective / requirements. As an employee of GM he is getting the money (upto a large %) to buy a GM car only. No alternative manufacturers allowed.

FYI Brother Devarshi: As far as my knowledge goes CNG is not available in bangalore. So its not going to do any benefit to Animdas.

Go for Optra. Good all rounder. And great 3 year warranty and service holiday, so you hardly pay anything on maintenance. Only FE is a little low compared to Aveo and SRV.
