the most logical choice being the civic . I myself was disappointed when I drove it for the first time coz compared to 1.8T it simply lacked wrromm ! but i guess Pete's anna can do something about it soon and moreover the maint. for a skoda is a la-merc. though it may surface only rarely and maynot occur at all in some cases. 2 yrs down the lane they might even discontinue the model which can make its resale crash down . Combi is simply not worth considering , any way its just my view point....

it would certainly have to be the civic. man, sitting inside, you feel you are in a jet. the panels are cock-a-hoop (IMO)

For performance Honda civic cant beat skoda 1.8T.I think skoda will give you better mileage than honda.Skoda design is bit outdated compared to honda. If you can compromise power a bit then go for civic. It has digital speedo :P.If you go for skoda 1.8T you can increase you bhp upto 340.

Mind made up

I'm going with Rider 1.8T and mod'ing it. Despite all the excellent reasons (including the digital speedo ;-) to buy a civic my heart isn't in it...screw it, bhp rules.

Thanks a lot everybody. I'll post pics and OTR numbers when I get my car!

I've seen NA Balenos put out close to 150 hp here. Turbo Esteems do about the same, and that's without running insane pressures. The stock Forester does, what, 120 bhp? The block, crank, and pistons are the same as the Impreza. So I'm guessing you are good for about 240 hp with turbos.

[quote=v1p3r;329845]Don't be fooled by marketing. The Indian RS puts out 150 bhp, and the Audi TT puts out 235.

The TT 3.2 puts out 225 hp. The 1.8T puts on 180. Thats detuned to 150 and sold in India on the Octavia RS. Another 30 hp wont be a considerable amount of money. So you will essentially get TT performance... at least the entry level TT anyway.
