Well thanks for your suggestion, I drove mostly at 70-80 km/h with ac at 25° on my recent trip and got an economy of 14.1 km/l. Total distance 628 kms and about 50 kms of hills so kept mostly in 2nd and 3rd gear.

I hope on long and smooth stretches like Yamuna Expressway I could achieve 16
