Please help me choose a car

Hi,
My name is Ranjith and I drive an Indica V2. Am not a great driver but like a fun car

Am looking for a car with following
1. Power (more the better)
2. Feels plush inside. means features and finish.
3. FE (who wont want it)
4. Low Maintainance

Budget is up to 10 Lakhs and Cannot streach at all.
Driving will be city driving (thane to seepz) around 50Kms both ways and a bit on weekends. maybe once a month for drive to murud or alibaug etc

I like the power of Verna VGT and sx model has all the features in SX4 except the stering remote and alloy wheels and some minor stuff.

but SX4 ZXI is 1.5 lakhs cheaper. Not that I crib to pay but for a bit more of power and good looking interiors (wood panel etc) shud I pay that much extra is the question. How does the SX4 compare with Verna VGT SX?

I have heard Mitsubishi is going down so am not sure of the Cedia.

Please help.

Petrol : Aveo 1.6.

Now... If you want a diesel, then Verna is the option you have...

Otherwise, i guess Suzuki SX4 makes more sense, specially when the fully fully loaded ZXi comes a whooping 1.5 lakhs cheaper...

(Sure you dont want to include Scorpio/Safari in that list?)

Mitsubishi is on its way up again with the new 2008 Lancer and Lancer Evo X launches. After a string of losses, it has finally been profitable again in the last two quarters. I don't think its going anywhere. In that price range, Cedia is the best car hands down. But then again its upto you to decide what car you want. You might wanna test drive all of them before you decide.

Of the other two, SX4 is overall a better car than the Verna. Only thing going for Verna is that massively powerful CRDi motor. The brakes on the Verna are really weak.

I would suggest the Fiesta TDCi.
Amazing average, good to drive, IMHO better interiors than both the Verna and the SX4.
The only downside is that it isn't very powerful.

Ford in India is known to make fun to drive vehicles. If you can forget numbers the fiesta diesel makes enough power to keep you going around. I find it better looking than both verna and sx4.

hyundai verna diesel is frugal and will also whet your appetite for performance. New diesel models I heard also come with climate control hence making it almost equally loaded as the top end petrol.

SX4 has been an excellent overall family car. Another good option. I have personally not been impressed by its power delivery but then for the roads its much more than enough.

and yes, Mitsubishi is going nowhere. The new lancer, outlander and eclipse models have raised sales and the outlander and icar are also coming to India soon. Cedia is an excellent VFM but I dont favour the looks. Service quality has surely deteriorated. Hope that helps.

i suggest you go in for the Verna VGT, the top end variant with ABS etc. Since your daily commute is quite high, 100 km to be precise, only a disel would satisfy your pocket. So out go the SX4 and the SUVs. Plus, in my opinion the verna VGT offers terrific VFM, and A.S.S wont be a problem either since its a hyundai. In the Verna, you get the best combination of power and FE, and a good overall package, ie if you can overlook the nicer interiors on the other cars.

Go for either Aveo or Fiesta both are decent lookers and have good interiors inside. If you like SX4 ZXI and safety features offered by it go for it.

You can think about Corolla Executive as well it has very good power, nice interior and not bad Mailege.

Regards,

Ravi.
