Re: 2024 Honda Amaze | Would you buy the base, mid or top variants?

The VX trim is very VFM - the ZX gets chrome doorhandles which are not to my taste, (admittedly really good looking) diamond cut alloy wheels which can be retrofitted and ADAS, a feature which IMO is not very useful in India.

VX would be the best variant unless a person is interested in ADAS. Chrome door handles and alloys can be changed any time if needed.

Hmm, I think iam going to side with the mid spec vx variant as it is fully loaded with the things I think are necessary. And I don't think that India is ready for ADAS. The alloy wheels and chrome door handles can be added with the plethora of aftermarket support.

ZX for the Adas
Had many close calls that ADAS would have helped avoid. I’m human. I can get distracted.

If it’s too annoying in the traffic, it’s always something we can turn off. Imo it’s the USP of this car and a must have

Re: 2024 Honda Amaze | Would you buy the base, mid or top variants?

Voted for ZX. I feel the additional money I pay for ADAS (the rest of the features of ZX over VX aren't really worth the difference) is worth it in today's world with fast developing highways and a general traffic sense that is still stuck in the 50s. It will also help massively with resale value down the line.

Amaze is easily my pick in the segment. It is the only car with a refined 4 cylinder engine left in the segment, if I'm not wrong (Aura is discontinued?!). I have developed an allergy towards 3 cylinder engines after test driving that absolute abomination of an engine in the new Swift, and also after owning a tata 3 cylinder for almost a decade now (even though it has been reliable) with no concept of "refinement".

If I can, I will ALWAYS go for a car with a 4 cylinder engine. The difference in refinement between the new Dzire and the new Amaze is big enough for me to go ahead with the Amaze, if I was a prospective customer.

I also trust Honda reliability over any other brand, including even the mighty Toyota.

Re: 2024 Honda Amaze | Would you buy the base, mid or top variants?

While I was test driving the Elevate,I was driving ADAS enabled car for the first time. Somehow the car was braking by itself while going through a rough road without any obstacles on the road.

ADAS implementation is very important in unpredictable Indian roads.

So I feel the VX variant is sufficient for someone who knows proper driving techniques.

Re: 2024 Honda Amaze | Would you buy the base, mid or top variants?

Voted for the ZX simply for the fact that VX doesn't even have basic Cruise Control. This is one aspect which is very helpful when it comes to long highway journeys.

The delta in cost isn't that much to be honest. I read a few comments that ADAS is useless hence the VX model. While I agree with most of them, some of the aspects of ADAS in the Amaze are actually helpful not just for us but also for others on the road. I'm referring to things like

* Cruise Control (Standard or Adaptive)
* Automatically Dimming Headlights

Retrofitting these with the fit and finish of a company fitted equipment would be very difficult if not necessarily impossible.

And if the delta is split into a 3-5 year loan (which is what I'm assuming most people go for) then the per month cost difference between purchasing VX and ZX could be negligible.

Hence my vote goes to the ZX model.

The VX would have been perfect for me except it misses out on Cruise Control, which to me is a massively good to have feature especially on highways.

So voted ZX for now.

VX would be my choice, feature addition on ZX does not seem proportionate with the additional amount to be paid.
