Conclusion

Buyers looking to save some cash can also opt for the second-generation Amaze as they are still being sold. In all fairness, the mid-spec variant offers the best value for money. While the base spec is pretty loaded, it does miss out on some tech-savvy features like Lane-watch Camera, wireless charger and more that are now considered must-haves. While one has to spend Rs 1.10 lakh on top of the base variant to opt for the VX, you do get your money's worth.

The top-spec ZX variant is an additional Rs 60,000 more than the VX, which will give you better-looking alloy wheels and the talk of the town Level 2 ADAS features.

Do you think that VX is the most value-for-money variant, also if you had to buy, which variant would you pick? The Base, Mid or the Top?

Thread moved out from the Assembly Line. Thanks for sharing!

Picked the VX, since, I would probably upgrade the tires to my preference since diamond cut wheels aren't really my thing, I like plain, clean alloys, dont need more chrome, and ADAS in this country depends on how good the manufacturer tuned it. The VX gets auto climate control, which is nice, gets a host of cameras to look around which is all you really need, and a rear defogger (this should've been standard to be fair).

I like it when a car is a car first, electronic appliance later (same can't be said about most EVs :p)

While the VX has pretty much all the features that I'd want in a Honda car, I'd personally go for the ZX - purely for the ADAS. It's not THAT pricier over the VX, just about 60K more. And I strongly believe that people will sooner or later get used to ADAS over a period of time. I don't think the ADAS can be retrofitted too.

Voted for ZX, just for the ADAS. If it were not there, the VX is probably the only option that any Amaze buyer should even look at, for the VFM quotient.

Voted for ZX as I always advocate strongly to always buy the top model. As the value we get for the added expense of the top model can be enjoyed over the whole period of the car. Also at the time of resale we can get some extra price for the top model thus mitigating this added expense.

Not able to vote yet , though my pick is VX variant and I have booked VX CVT variant in red colour. I found this as the most vfm variant as it has all the bells and whistles except ADAS, I don't have use case for ADAS for me as mostly my use will be in city with occasional highway travel and most outings are in ghats near Pune

Currently waiting for the allotment as I wanted 2025 manufactured car.

Voted for VX

Yes, VX is the most value-for-money variant as you get almost all the features for an additional one lakh rupees over the base variant. The V variant misses multiple features, while with the ZX variant, you hardly get any additional features besides ADAS.

ZX is my choice, just for additional 60k you get advanced features of ADAS. This will immensely help in highway runs and resale value as in the future down the lane after 5-10 years, ADAS will be mainstream in many cars in the future.

Go with ZX even if you don't use ADAS. My dad has SX(O) Creta and has never used Sunroof or Cruise Control even once and it was driven 75k kms till date.

ZX seems like a no-brainer to me. As someone who enjoys fiddling with the tech constantly while on the move, ADAS seems like a nice little safety net, even if it only warns me of my erratic behaviour. Added bonus of no sunroof on even the top variant, I am sold entirely.

VX for me. Still a little apprehensive of how ADAS wouldh behave over a long term ownserhip of 15 years.

I ll vote for VX, purely because the ZX is priced slightly above 10L and attracts additional taxes in karnataka. Infact VX CVT (Metallic) is priced very well at 9.99L since there is no further room for price hike as compared to Non metallic/MT.

This is what I'm a bit worried about too, what with, manufacturers not sealing bits thag are supposed to be sealed. Lets say moisture gets in the ADAS camera housing? (*Cough cough* KIA Headlights *cough cough*). This is India, and Indian weather knows how to get where it's not supposed to. It's probably going to be expensive to do, and we all know that a camera doesn't work right when the view is all fuzzy.. But, we'll see how it holds up in the long run.. :thumbs up

I vote for VX.
Test drove the ZX and the Ada's is pretty basic. IMO, the VX is better vfm

I would pick the ZX over the VX if I had to get an Amaze.
For 65K, ADAS is a deal breaker.
10y down the lane, nearly 50% of Indian cars on the road would have ADAS.
Again, it remains to be seen how well it operates 10 years later.

I read earlier posts and now I understand that there may be substantial price difference due to taxation rules & RTO charges and hence substantial value difference between a car priced upto 9,99,999 and above 9,99,999.
A cursory glance at Cardekho website makes this difference 1.40L for on road Delhi prices between VX CVT(9,99,900 ex Showroom) and ZX CVT(10,89,900 ex Showroom).
So as earlier posts suggests one has to keep this in mind while making a purchase decision between VX CVT and ZX CVT.
