Hey buddy Rajiv, let your friend drive NHC & Fiesta in city & highways and choose the one with more power. Hope your are considering 1.6 Fiesta. Otherwise its a blind choice.

I was in the same dilemma in Feb/ March, but I listened to my heart and my kids and bought a Fiesta 1.6 sxi---it was 90K cheaper than the vtec model. I have no regrets whatsoever, and get a mileage of 10 to 13 in city driving, depending on traffic, AC usage and how heavy my foot is on the throttle.
Only thing good in the vtec was the larger space in the rear seat, but in all other aspects, the Fiesta 1.6 beats the NHC vtec.

Isn't NHC VTEC over the budget? I thought the showdown was between NHC IDSI vs Fiesta 1.6.

Hi Raajiv,

Well i own a 1.4 petrol fiesta, im getting around 15kmpl on highway driving, and i get ard 13kmpl in the city.

Fiesta is purely a drivers car. Ask your friend to drive both the cars, im sure he will pick the fiesta, and if he doesn't,intervene, and make sure that he makes the right choice .

Point 3 is satisfied by NHC. It aint no drivers car, but you can hardly call it sluggish.

Fiesta will struggle with point 4 IMO. It's interiors are pretty cramped for me ( I'm 6'1"). And the suspension is on the stiffer side, maybe to aid handling. IMO, the NHC is the far more comfortable car and it will surely return better FE.

NHC GXi is 1.x second slower than Fiesta 1.6 in 0~100 dash. In both cars if you are doing 100, for the same speed you will feel Fiesta is faster than NHC. Unless your friend want to win 0~100 dash or want to feel faster for the same speed, its NHC for your friend.

Tell your friend to go for the Fiesta eyes closed if he enjoys driving

Have you driven the Fiesta 1.6? Please let me know if you have cos, without meaning any offense, it seems to me that you have no idea what you are talking about. I would have understood if you were referring to the Vtec but comparing the Idsi to the Fiesta 1.6 performance is, IMHO, ridiculous.

By the way, before you ask, I've driven the Idsi.......

Wow.. now where did that come from?? When did i compare the NHC and Fiesta in performance. Read the post well before you takeoff.

What I said is that the though the NHC can't be called a drivers car, the NHC can hardly be called a slouch.

And regarding comfort, IMO the NHC is a far more comfortable car. The Fiesta is too cramped for my liking, and i didn't find the seats too comfortable.

And for your info, i have driven Fiesta 1.4, 1.6 and 1.4 tdci. I found the performance of both the 1.6 and 1.4 wonderful and the best in the competition in this range. What i didn't like is the lack of space and the cramped feel i get when I'm in it.

One negative aspect for Fiesta and Fusion is that both the cars have narrow seats in the front. Found it uncomfortable on the long drives. NHC seats are wide and comfortable. Back seats and leg space are excellent in NHC.
