Baleno 2002 vs lancer sfxi

Hi ,

have shortlisted a baleno and a lancer sfxi as a second hand car buy ! The baleno is a 2002 model and has done 38000.
The lancer sfxi 2000 fully loaded with a twin din music system with a JBL bass tube has done 34000.

Both come at the same price 3lakhs . On baleno I would have to spend on wide tyres and alloys plus a woofer and an amplifyer .

Which is a better buy ? Both cars are in very good condition .

The lancer sfxi has good style......N the baleno has good performance...depends on ur prefrences .......whether u care bout look.....mitsuvishi will def be more expensive to maintain as compared to the baleno.....but if i were in ur place with both these deals....i would go in for the sfxi

as per the deals u have got , Lancer is a steal at this price along with added accessories !!!
the Baleno price is on par with the market price !!

sorry for butting in but how much is the diff in the maintainance cost of the two, i mean price of spare parts etc ???

the diff is pretty big.......the baleno is a great car but the price at which ur gettin tht sfx1 and with all the accessories....it a real steal....

The last time ACI did a survey on cars and their maintenance costs, they considered the frequently changed parts as well as parts that are frequently changed during accidents. The cumulative cost of the Lancer turned out to be in the region of Rs. 94k while the Baleno was in the range of 56k. It just goes to show the difference in maintenance costs. While i expect both cars to be around for quite sometime (HM-Ambassador is testament to the fact and Maruti, none of the cars have ever been discontinued except Alto VXi), the Baleno in overall terms seems to strike a better deal.

Thanks ! BUT if you guys remember "Lancers spare parts were almost slashed by 65% last year ) .here is an example .The rear bumper of the Baleno costs 6500 rupees compare it with a Lancer 1200 Rs. I spoke to the Baleno owner ,he told me that he had got the radiator fan changed .You would not believe how much did it cost him !!!8500 Rupees including the Dynamo. Though I know am justfying myself , but if a guy whois pro Baleno detests the whole idea of owning a Baleno ,Then God save the world!

Well its a huge difference . Like I have mentioned Earlier , Lancer parts are way cheaper than Baleno's (prices were slashed last year ). Though Baleno has awesome performance , The looks can be taken care of to an extent .The cost of maintenace is a big turn off .

parts am not very sure but it used to costlier, check out with dealer on reg service parts like oil/air/fuel filters, tail lights, cost of bumpers which will give a rough idea.

hell ill also go mad making this choice with the price quoted.. what color r the cars

The Baleno is a good car - powerful ( as compared to the lancer)

The lancer is a sexy looker ,

the conmfort and ride of both cars is on par . FE i think baleno has a very slight edge here.

nnow u decide - u want power with no looks or u want sexy looks with a little less of power ?

my vote? the lancer definitely

Both In Black . The lancer has 14 ich alloys with Pirelli's . The baleno original rims with 165/80 r13 .

well
from the looks of it even i would be tempted to go for the lancer
its a pre 2002 model so its quality is also better .
the lancer with some engine mods will be way better then the baleno at this price
the lancer in black is a stunner
does it have the slxi tail lamps because if it does then definately go for it.
