For looks, space, ride quality, and perceived solid build - Linea will be the choice.

But for more reliability, peace of mind, spare parts availability - Aspire will be my choice.

Since you mentioned that the car is primarily for city use - if it were me, I would go for Aspire.

Need an advice on used car purchase in Delhi NCR.

I am looking for a used sedan, for use as second car in the family. Will mostly do city runs, and occassional highway long runs.

I don't want to spend too much, so have finalised my budget as 4 lakhs.

I am getting two good cars in this range.

The first is a Ford Aspire, 2017 Trend variant, run 35k, with service history.

The second one is a Linea T Jet Emotion, 2016 variant, run around 32k, also with service history.

I have finalised on these two, as my concerns are safety during highway runs, decent boot space for highway runs, and also decent leg/ head space at the back, as we are a family of tall folks.

Which one would you guys advise?

Regards
Any reason you’re not considering any other cars like Amaze, City, older Accords and Corollas?

Would highly recommend going for auto variants as manual is a pain in city traffic, your primary area of use. If it’s between the two, I’d go with Linea as you get more car for your money, it will be more powerful and will handle much better than an Aspire, as it’s a second car I wouldn’t let the possibility of slightly longer wait times for part replacements influence the decision in any way. Cheers.

Thanks for your inputs.

I am not looking at the other cars you mentioned, as I want a car not older 2016/17, so that it can have a useable life atleast till 2030 in Delhi, because of the NGT ruling restricting life of petrols to 15 years in NCR. The cars you mentioned, of this vintage, won't be within the 4 lakh budget.

Understood, you can still look at 2016 Amaze’s as most are listed at 4-4.3L on used car sites. But I wouldn’t reccomed it unless you place reliability and low cost of maintenance as the number one priorities as in all other areas it’s mediocre at best, but do test drive all your options, ideally on the same day to get a good feel as every car has its unique characteristics. Cheers.

Aspire will be cheaper to maintain. Other than that I see no reason to not choose Linea TJet.

Linea TJet used to cost around 5k per year for routine service. The price of some parts such as suspension, AC parts, brake discs and pads have gone up considerably ever since FIAT stopped production. There is little issue in sourcing spare parts though as parts are available online at 99 rpm as well.

Linea has more boot space and has a fantastic suspension so will be more comfortable on the highways. Aspire is more compact and Linea moreover has a large turning radius so Aspire will be slightly easier in the city.

Please keep in mind that both cars not spacious enough for tall families.

The 2016 Linea T Jet, when seen in person, was not in a good state. Have dropped it.

What about a 2016 Skoda Rapid Style, manual, petrol. All service records from Skoda. 45000 kms run, At Delhi. Quoting 4.8L, negotiable.
