it is not ground clearance but how the car clears speed breakers and potholes that should be questioned. i have driven thhe corolla G and octavia RS over the SAME strech of road (link road from Goregaon Link Road to Western Express Highway) and the Octavia definitely offered a better if stiffer ride. For those of you who have not driven over this strech think of it as the lunar surface. with 2 people in the octavia is did not bottom out even once. Neither did the corolla. We were careful. but the octavia seemed better poised. the corolla made us feel like we were on a sail boat.
