while you are at it you might want to check out the palio mjd, the Dzire and also the verna which has a damn good engine. The aveo is also a nice car that will fit your requirements.

Things against it are that its for sedate drivers, and you need to go slow over ill-designed speed breakers.

Also, you can keep it forever, and it won't trouble you much.
Hmmm, I would like to have ABS and some basic level of features, in whatever car i buy. So there goes NHC.

Unfortunately, that will be very often in my case - full family on board.

Problem with Aveo is GC which is low. and if you are thinking for that, then why not, Accent, Indigo, city, and many more.
Maybe my perception, but it appears that ingress and egress seemed fairly ok in Aveo as compared to other sedans. I may need to validate this again.

Fully agree!
The basic premises that I put together for the selection now are taking turns. But I just want to give it some time and let the ping pong ball to rebound as much but settle down somewhere. I was almost on the verge of booking a Fusion but want to give it a few days now.

SX4 ZXi, I am really enjoying the car. I was also concerned about the rear middle seat. Now I realize that it was just a useless parameter as most of the time I drive alone or max 3-4 people inside. Also after having seat covers on, middle seat is now way better.

Just in case if that helps.

Regarding the front visibility, I am very comfortable with because I drove my Indica for 1 lakh km and it has similar kind of visibility

Congrats on buying FF+ DIESEL, as there is no option for SX4 diesel for now.

Thanks, and given the fuel prices, diesel seemed to be the right option for my usage.

Congratulations Glass! I think you made the most practical decision. Fusion is a great car and although you switched sides in the end by opting for diesel but it makes a lot of sense.
