dunno why ,
but i never liked the accent.its soo cramped on the insides and many of the korean horses seem to be sleeping most of the times.
the viva is 100+bhp,but seems like about 30 horses are always sleeping.so it performs worse than a 70 bhp 1.2 siena.

except the crdi accent,i feel the other accents sukkk for their price.

But what are your requirements?

As in do you look for performance over comfort....that sort of thing. Give us what you expect out of a car...then you will get more informative answers.

True i agree to drifter.... tell us ur req. ! Otherwise i think baleno is the best bet..! Coz... i owned a baleno before and except for the tires that car is magic!! Just change the rubber and its one of the best cars around!

Baleno comes to mind....then the optra. I'd take a baleno personally. But the optra will be more comfortable than the baleno. For performance though...the baleno takes the cake. Not saying that baleno is not a comfortable car...its pretty good...i've sat in the backseat too...and i found no reason to complain.

Since its the optra 1.6 you looking at ...i say the baleno !

but only if you could bring the optra 1.8 in the picture..........................

Agreed....if the optra 1.8 was involved...then i would take the 1.8 instead of the baleno.

Hey,
Thanks drifter and normally crazy.I do wish i could afford the optra 1.8. But cant.So its a toss up between the Baleno and the Optra 1.6. One last q?-
its mainly for city driving and my father whos not young anymore will be sitting in the back daily...hes a doc ...so a daily commute of 12-18 kms.
So now again the Baleno or the Optra 1.6?

Thanks a lot guys for narrowing it down for me.
Now pls help me hit the bulls -eye!
Thanks

So since your dad is going to be sitting at the back...then comfort will be more of a priority...the optra is roomier and more comfortable than the baleno.

Cost of spares of the baleno will turn out to be cheaper than that of the optra...the fuel economy will also be better in the baleno (around 10kmpl city), optra (around 8kmpl).

Performance wise too baleno will be better...

Do take a test drive of both the cars back to back and decide which one you like better. If you are more performance oriented then im sure you'l like the baleno better. Only if the looks of the baleno dont matter.
Optra wins hands down in the looks department.

hey ,

if you are looking at the elantra petrol then definitely you can afford the optra 1.8
the elantra crdi is the one to look at.but since its more expensive, then its between the baleno and the petra 1.6.
if its rear seat comfort ,then definitely it has to be the petra.
