Definitely would agree, then I would say go with what your heart says. I always liked the Sonata, never got to drive one though.

Seems you're pretty much set on the Sonata. Go for it dude. I don't think you'll be satisfied with anything else

Hey octane, what are you waiting for?

for 5.25 lacs its a steal, looking for such a mint condition car.

Grab it man, else somebody might take away her.

If you are not interested, than please inquire about the procedure to transfer her to Ahmedabad.

@loving alaap:Lol...its human nature...When you get a good deal doubts start surfacing..n when something s out of our budget we are full of remorse..

Another thing, does the fact that a car has been previously company registered adversely affect its resale value(as in my case itl only damage the already dismal resale value)??

Im going to the dealer's place for a final check today...

@octane, its time to make the decision mate. Get the Sonata and enjoy her to the fullest. Instead of convincing yourself you are trying to convince us, wats the point? you saw the vehicle and if its anything u say it is the it IS A STEAL so stop at nothing go for it

No, it doesn't. In any case, the first owner is the one that takes the big hit in terms of resale value. The 2nd, 3rd... owners won't face a huge loss since they buy the car at an already low price. So you can relax.
All the best getting the car. And just curious, where are you picking it up from?

No effect in a relatively less used car.

infect such car claims higher resale value, because company must have very well maintained their car regularly.

Anyway, best of luck for the deal.

I had exactly same concerns and it was tough between Embera and Accord but the best way to go about it is, drive both of them and go for the one you feel comfortable about. I felt good with Accord and brought Accord 2.4mt and im glad i did. It had a better resale value and easily available spares any given day. For eg. I was out to manali and had to head out again from delhi as soon as i was back and i felt the brake pads needed change, late evening from a local vendor, I got the same for 600 for from and 400 for the rear ones and lo ! its done. I doubt if embera would have such easily available spares so like this, there would be 10s of things you may want to consider not to forget the no. of Gen. 2 Accords on Indian Roads vs. the no. of Embera on Indian roads.

Even though there are relatively less number of Emberas around, I doubt that spare parts will be hard to come by. It is, after all, a Hyundai, and the Sonata is still in production (albeit in a new avatar). And I think Hyundai's good A.S.S and support is one of the factors drawing octane to the Sonata.

@razor4077:You've hit the nail on the head bro about A.S.S..

It's not that I'm trying to convince the others about the capabilities of the car, just that if you look at my requirements, the Sonata fits the bill pretty well...I mean it does everything reasonably well (barring FE, which I repeat is not my criterion)...Of course, I really needed Team-Bhp's guidance on what the best price for either of the cars..

Admitted that its not as good as the Honda in terms of Image...but then the condition of the Sonata and the price at which i'm getting it at sort of balance it out...

Plus the Honda does'nt even come close to the Hyundai in terms of Comfort and Equipment levels(barring the somewhat drab dashboard)...Not to forget A.S.S

@razor4077:made a couple of checks from the service station...please bear with me....have a couple of queries...

Friends how do i make sure that the car had never been on a loan/hypothecated??....Please help me on the same...

Also although the i've been told that the car supposedly had a no-claim bonus how do I check for the same??

A little OT, but as far as the Accord is concerned, the last price its already been booked for 6.85....P.S.the car had some tax arrears(How is that possible????)..

@ octane:

Which dealer are you buying it from?

Please make sure that you discuss the transfer charges etc upfront. They`ll be some additional fee for the audio system etc.

Also is it WB-02 or any other RTO?

For NCB call the insurance company and use the policy number.

Loan cars have their blue book marked. You can just check it easily. If it was under loan then you need to ask the seller for a clearance certificate.

Its a bargain deal so im going grab it soon and have asked the person selling it to keep the car on hold for me for a couple of days.
