25L+ dilemma!!!

Hey guys!
I am hoping to get some expert advice concerning my first sedan ( premium). As the title says, I am utterly confused among the 3 germans. I have pretty much ruled out the merc owing to the fact that they haven't been able to convince me in terms of looks and features ( although power is stupendous ). I'm considering the audi a4 simply because of the luring looks. 3 series due to the rear wheel drive nature and staggering performance. And how would you compare the 1.8 and the 2.0tfsi with the 320d in terms of performance. Will i get the same level of equipment in the 1.8 as the other models? Hve gone through all the threads concerning the audi though. I have time.

I would vouch for BMW 320d. Exceptional performance and with a recent stripped version, it also comes at a stupendous price.

I'd go for the Audi A4.

The Diesel's excellent and the Entire Package is pretty impressive in terms of equipment.

The 3 series is now being offered at a stripped down corporate variant at below 25L.

the 2.0tfsi a4 gives performance near to the 3.2fsi so you will leave the 320 and c class in your rear view mirror. the 1.8 does not make any sense. the only problem with audi is getting delivery, of late they dont seem to be giving delivery on time. the a4 is also larger than the 3 series.

I'd recommend the 320d if the car is going to be self-driven a lot and you can live with a slightly harsh ride.

The A4 2.0 Diesel lags behind in performance and the service experience is also average.

I would vote for Audi A4. A4 may not be as exciting to drive as the Beamer, but overall, it is better than 320d.

It's always exciting vs brand value vs resale value at the end ! But with the new pricing can I say VFM = 320D?

And the new Merc is out, wont other's too have a surprise for us later this year; since our friend here can wait?

Thanks for the input guys. Well yes, the car is going to be self driven. The front wheel and rear wheel drive difference is not a concern for me. I would not want to do high speed maneuvers. And I thought BMW is bringing a new 3 series soon.

Dont think theres a new 3 series till 2011, it was refreshed here just last year. Are you looking primarily for better comfort or a better driving experience. And generally how many people are going to be sitting in the car usually? What is your expected yearly running in km? Answer these questions and we can help you out better

Self driven? Look no further than the 320d corporate edition. It makes the A4 & the C220 look terribly overpriced. The car is quick, a renowned handler and will be immensely satisfying to own, thanks to BMW's 5 year service packages (which you MUST buy). Only downer is the ride quality and rear bench space (relative to the C and A4), but the corporate edition's amazing price makes it easy to overlook these two points.

Thanks but the 320d is no good without the idrive. The corp edition may have staggering performance but nothing on the features list. I've driven my friends 320d highline. I was taken aback by the acceleration. I just wish they'd offer the a4 with quattro as standard. And how's the 2.0tfsi? Is it any better than the 320d interms of outright performance? ( ignore the RWD and FWD difference ).

I maybe a bit biased here, but how about a skoda superb 3.6 V6 260 bhp with 4X4? Be aware of fuel quality and after sales service though.

But then fuel will definitely be a major problem. And sedans can never compete with a 4X4 SUV. So if he also needs 4X4 in the car, he could rather go in for 1.8 TSI superb + safari. Superb sure is a great car
