What's wrong with the Fairlady? That was a cool name and a great car.

I think the Nissan Moco is a bit dumb. In Spanish, moco means booger/snot.

Do they have a Wega now? I thought their two compact sedans were called the Wira and Waja? Malaysian cars names are more sanskritised than Indian car names. Take Protons cars:

Wira is actually "Veera" corrupted into Malay

Satria is "Kshatriya" corrupted into Malay

Perdana is "Pradhana" or "Premier" corrupted into Malay

Citra is actually "Chitra" - there is no corruption here since 'C' in malay is the same as the English 'Ch". "Roti Canai" in Malay is what they call Roti Channa...

I still havent figured out what "Waja" means, though...

Oh! Puleeeze.....if it was a joke....its a good one.

Jokes apart Sumant Mulgaonkar was the father of Telco's ERC. One of India's greatest automobile engineers...they should name a car after him.

Dodge has 2 pickup trucks that are best and worst suited for an India launch as far as names go.

DODGE Ram - oooohhh! Our religious folks will think that its a modern version of Lord Ram's legendary chariot. Instant success guarenteed. Maybe Arun Govil should advertise for it.

DODGE Dakota - Dunno about the rest of India...but in Bangalore, if you say you have a Dakota...then it means you have a piece of junk. Maybe they should change the name if they want to launch it in India.

Yes you can...it was a car named as a tribute to Dino after his untimely death.

As for other names when I saw the Toyota RAV4 for the first time I thought it was "Rava" ...that might have been funny..hehe

some more -
Proton Pert (!)
Subaru Outback
Holden Commodore

I just visted the Renault web-site because I knew there had to be more over there that I had missed since Renault are surely champions of stupid names.

Kangoo, Twingo, Espace we know already...
Trafic (Huh ?) , Trafic Generation, Master, Modus, Scenic , Grand Scenic, Kangoo Express.....and they are all butt ugly!!!!

Only Renault names I like are Laguna & Clio (which is a superb car as well)
