Euro 2012

It's the time of the year (or once in 2 years) when you switch to a football channel and start supporting a nation instead of a club.

It's time for EURO 2012.

I am attaching the schedule for ready reference.

So, the million dollar question --> "WHO WILL BE THE CHAMP??"

My money is on Spain followed by the Germans!

Re: Euro 2012

I think the Germans are due a win for some time now. This might be their year.

Though I will, as always, be rooting for the Oranje.

Re: Euro 2012

I predict that Netherlands would win this time. Luckily I predicted that Spain would win the World Cup 2010, it happened.

My vote is for Spain. Great team. And most of them already play together for Barsa.

Re: Euro 2012

My heart wanted Spain or Holland to win the world cup, and look what happened

So I hope something similar happens in Euro, although I wouldn't mind seeing England win too.

No Germany, No Italy please

Edit: Can someone post the telecast timings

Ah! I do hope that logic doesn't work out here! Germany needs a win since ages!

Add 3.5 hours to the timelines. The matches are lined up at 21:30 PM & 00:15 AM (IST) respectively.

Neo Sports apparently has the telecast rights. I wonder if my cable guys have Neo Sports!

I'm rooting for Holland. The Orange brigade lifting the cup with RVP with the Golden boot.

Re: Euro 2012

Wouldn't mind the Dutch or the Germans lifting the cup. But both are in Group B and it looks to be a tough group.

You would need Neo Prime aswell. Split telecast due to French Open - Roland Garros.

Re: Euro 2012

I was amazed to find that the telecast is on Neo....I hope we get decent commentary (although mostly it is common feed) but these channels (Zee/Neo) have the dullest and most boring football pre-game hosts and pundits around.

I support Spain but I also have a soft spot for the Azzurri. But I have a feeling Germany might finally come good as they have been threatening the last few tournaments but falling at the semi/final stage.

Re: Euro 2012

I voted for the Dutch, but my heart still goes with Germany and Italy. This is because, both of them have the temperament to win big games, where as the Dutch had given it away, playing all out, in crunch matches. It feels good to watch not just the ball but the tactics and strategies employed by the teams towards a win.

Seems that all the matches are covered on Neo Prime. Alas, the channel is not available with many DTH operators. Any idea about Doordarshan airing the matches?

Edit : Sharing a cool link on the schedules in IST http://sports.in.msn.com/football/euro/2012/fixtures
