The video of about 1 minute and 20 seconds, shows a woman reversing her SUV for 2 kms on a highway in Yibin, Hubei Province, China on 7/11/2013. As she slowly reverses, the oncoming traffic is seen dodging and playing safe.:)

She isn't able to keep her line :uncontrol but wow 2kms, that's insane I'm sure she could have taken the next exit and navigated her way back. This is the sort of stuff that should be taken a lot more seriously.

Reminds me of a lady driving a red Hundai i10. They took a uturn on the Hebbal fly over leading towards Manyata tech park :Frustrati

I wonder how the cameras were zooming in and out considering they must be security cameras...

Had it been india, the person would have taken a U turn and gunned it towards the oncoming traffic in the fastest lane.Has happened to me quite a few times.:Frustrati

Agree. Can it be a fake video?

Quite agree. I have seen this quite commonly on fairly busy National Highway like NH4 between Pune and Kolhapur.

Reversing for that long in the wrong direction does not reduce the degree of offence anyway, so if she was prepared to break the law she could have taken a U turn.

That's what besids deep's comment, makes the whole incident suspicious.

+1 Akshay.

It is a common occurrence on Indian highways. I know it is wrong, but we have got used to it.

This happens every single day, on each of our highways.
Heck, they use the wrong lane for their daily commute!!

Here is my earlier post with pic.

The Scorpio wanted to take an exit on the other side of the NICE road so crossed over somewhere, drove in good speed on the fast lane in Opposite direction. Many do this on NICE Road shoulder lane but this was like :Shockked:

Thats insane. Not only has the lady put herself in danger but also posed a danger to many a vehicles on the highway. I hope she must have got the deserved punishment from the authorities.

This thread should ideally be in "Bad Drivers - How do you spot them" thread.

I do not have first hand info - but it is quite possible for 'traffic control room' to control the focus points if they happen to watch an instance Live.
Just like cctv's that you might have seen that have a revolving lenses.
I use an app to view our cctv's and there is an option in the app that allows for zoom-in and such - just that our camera's do not have that feature!

Wouldn't the engine overheat if you backed up for that long? I'm guessing 2 kms would have taken her atleat 15 mins considering an avg speed of 8~10kmph.

We city folks have driven kilometers in 1st gear in traffic jams. So i think cars can take that much abuse. At most the radiator fan would be working much more.

We are cruising at 3 digit speeds on highways with a rpm around 3~4k for hours together. Reversing at 8~10 kmph should not cross the similar rpm range I suppose. Engine shouldn't overheat in this case

I hope she got pulled over and penalised, if not got her license suspended for doing something so stupid.

Not only was she reversing blindly, she was also not aligned to her lane! No excuses for foolish people who get driver's licenses!
