Is there any broadband service which offers atleast 256kbps pure unlimited connection in Gurgaon?.. By pure i mean no download limits, no hourly limits, upload speed=download speed.

P.S. Sorry for the angry smilie.. by mistake..

Hey, Call up Airtel as they have what you looking for ... I have the 128 kbps unlimited plan and its from Airtel as well. A friend of mine has the 256 kbps plan and if I'm not wrong he pays about 999/- bucks a month for that !!

Cheers

Sify is going to start in couple of months.....
The only option available is Airtel but they will give u a telephone instrument with it.......packages are costly in comparison...

Airtel's 128 kbps unlimited package is pretty decent. They even double the speed (256 kbps) during night times (from 10:30 to 8). I am not sure if this feature is provided in Gurgaon. It's there in Kerala,Karnataka and TN.

Airtel also has a 256 kbps unlimited package. Guess it comes to around 1k including modem rental. You get an optional phone too and have to pay nothing for it. Free incoming, and outgoing calls charged at aound 1.1 per pulse.

PS: Don't go for Sify, it's just not worth spending any money on. Pathetic service, one of the worst CC folks and you are confined to using their crappy connection client.

Regards

As others said i'd suggest Airtel Broadband i have 256K unlimited for 999 including a landline. Best part is after 10pm it becomes 512kbps! As a subscriber if ur query isn't rectified within 4hrs then u get 50Rs off in the next bill. lol what else would ya want ...

Airtel also have standalone plans. Check them out. This way you wont have to pay phone rent etc.

I'm the 999 @ 256K unlimited package i think the phone and modem rental is waived off.

before this i used to use Sify and boy was it bad ... you can't use to hosting anything whatsoever. you can't connect back to your computer you can't do anything. Plus for a heavy user like me the Sify packages turned out to be expensive.

I put up in gurgaon & have been using airtel for 2 yrs now.The 256kbps & above plans are v good,i found the 128kbps(unlimited,700rs) really slow.iqara & bsnl suck big time.No connectivity problems ever with airtel, its the most reliable.

Which Provider?

Bumping this 3 year old thread to check with broadband users in Gurgaon about the quality of service and options available in the city (specifically in Nirvana Country, off Sohna Road).

I am looking at a minimum of 1Mbps bandwidth with unlimited usage. The service should be reliable/dependable since broadband is my sole connection to the external world and helps me earn my bread and butter - hence, no compromise on quality - can not afford it, if you like..

Checked on websites of 3 major players and was able to consolidate the following information -

BSNL -
1) Unlimited plans are available only for max 512 Kbps @ Rs. 1350 p.m.
2) 512 kbps (upto 2 mbps) with a cap of 10 GB download @ Rs. 1800 p.m.

Tariff for both these plans is fine but first one fails to meet the bandwidth requirement while second one falls flat on download cap.

Another flip side could possibly be the time it takes to get a new connection. Though my current provider in Bangalore is BSNL and am mostly happy with the service, heart of heart I know it has the potential to suck big time in case of a failure.

Airtel -
1) 8Mbps with a cap of 4 GB download @ Rs. 1299 p.m. - tariff & bandwidth perfect but the cap on download is a disappointment
2) Unlimited plan of 512 Kbps till 100 GB download, beyond which the speed reduces to 256 kbps @ Rs. 1599 p.m. - tariff perfect but the bandwidth does not meet requirements - would be a compromise
3) Turbo16 - 16mbps with a cap of 20 GB download @ Rs. 2999 p.m. - willing to shell that kind of money had it not been a cap on download

My past experience with this service provider has been good so far as the service and dependability is concerned. However, lack of options meeting my needs fail to inspire confidence.

Reliance -
1 mbps unlimited @ Rs. 2199 p.m. What's more - if I pay for 10 months, I get to use it for free for 2 months - every thing is just perfect here except for the reputation/horror stories I have heard about Reliance connectivity and therefore, never ever was able to muster enough courage to subscribe to any of the Reliance services (data/calling/clothing/groceries despite this company being the biggest one in the country)

So folks, help me decide from your experiences which one to go for (in other words, what to pick between devil and the deep blue sea)? Or let me know of an option which you are subscribed to/aware of which matches my requirements?

Thanks in advance

Airtel is quite good. You can of course drop me a PM with your email - a friend stays in Deerwood chase and uses airtel BB - he can tell you.

reliance - never used, can't say.

PS: Why not two connections of airtel - one for ground floor, one for first floor - that should solve the 1 mbps issue. Use a home comp as server and route connections well

difficult to find folks who have used Reliance's services - I guess people have always been interested in its shares/stock than anything else

Not sure if this can be achieved in real life. Pardon my limited routing/networking knowledge (I am ashamed to admit this though), at best the second connection could work as a fail-over on a dual-WAN router.. Somewhat similar to lighting up two 60 Watt bulbs simultaneously will not produce light of 120 W bulb - though if one conks off, the other would still work as a back-up.

PS - this world is a small place, I too am moving in Deerwood Chase.
