The videocon ad for wireless headphone, where the wife talks about her parents but the husband is lost in watching a cricket match 'n listening to the commentary over the headphones..... was simply quite funny.

The new Dulux Velvet Touch paint ad....looks like its an ad for Kareena Kapoor and not the paint. Besides that the music is really annoying.

The Airtel ads ? Playing purely on human emotions ?

Ab yeh kya lene aaya hai ? 20 saal tak iske baap ne EK baat tak nahi ki !! and the wrist watch slides in...hahahaha. Dadu is still acting as he did in Munnabhai-1

The tune is soulful though.

And the continued ad - playing chess with dadu on phone sitting in a train travelling in the middle of nowhere !

But somehow I like it !

Must say among the best ads without any celebs and the like have to be the Blackberry ads from Airtel. Soulful music and nice presentation.
Had to say this.. although this was the Worst ads section.

I hate the new Coke ad with Aamir in it... the train one. Irritating. The Tamil version with Vikram in it was even more irritating.

The Amul Macho underwear ad. Anyone seen it ?

I love it simply because the soundtrack gets a smile on to my everytime and ofcourse the model is very good too.

"Iski toh toing hai , toing hai...." man its hilarious.

I know some may find it offensive but what to do ?

I agree. Was pleasantly surprised to see them during the WC series. Choice of Preety Zinta is good because she is so bubbly and naturally smiling face, and has clean track record unlike so many of these Bollywood women who are servicing Dubai ganglords/thugs.

Going purely by the bombardment of ads shown during WC, here is my impression.

Airtel Dadu ad - nice to watch once but not every other over. This is an aspect most ad guys seem to ignore. Some ads are just not as effective for routine use and become counter-productive.
Nokia ads for one click camera phones - boring again to watch again and again. Not that it is nice first time around.
Karizma - Highly stupid and ineffective stunt works.
TVS hunting tigers ad for some m/cycle - again totally ineffective cant even remember which one. The way the guy shakes his head at the end is so artificial! Shows spending lots of money does not get you anywhere.
Aditya Birla Group ad - the craziest and most idiotic of the lot - seems to have been given to an amateur guy learning Adobe Photoshop or whatever it is they use and he went overboard with crass graphics. Conveys no message.
Pepsi Agal World Cup - quite nice but gets boring after a while.
TVS Star City ad about a guy getting a girl to ride with him first time - Nice but why did the girl grow more ugly with age?!
BSNL Preeti Zinta ads - the one where they dance on beach is nice, rest somewhat boring. Of course BSNL is best for PZ because she is getting paid to use it, not like the rest of us ;-)
Motorola with AB Jr - quite nice, particularly the pun on Hindi movies ('The father of the baby in my womb is your friend'). Not boring even if repeated.
Bingo Chips - quite nice to watch many times! Interesting and original concept. Hats OFF!
Box ad for ZenEstilo - enough said about that
Alto ad - not bad, nice ad actualy.
Kajol Tata Indicom - I like it though not many may agree. Selling quality of service is a good idea whether or not true!
Santrowale - nice again, mainly because of PZ/SRK both are such natural actors with positive image.
Sunfeast biscuit - SRK again makes it look good so it looks good.
Salman Mayur - brain dead! Why should he say who he is?!
Mobile store naked guy ad - disgustingly incompetent. I will never buy even a earphone from these idiots.

All in all shows the stage/status of our ad industry, dominated by people who have either no creativity or have lost it somewhere.

Sorry, OT but we need to compile a list of irritating ads shown during these matches that completely screwed up the viewing experience, spoiled the mood, and send a strong message to the advertisers that we will avoid buying their products wherever choice is available for a year atleast as a punishment. If we can show to them they lost at least 1 crore sale because of this crappy behaviour, they will learn their lesson.

It was disgusting as per Steve Waugh and I totally agree. Crass commercialism has its limits and our guys seem to know not where it is.
