I'd suggest going for Airtel broadband if ACT doesn't have coverage in your loaclity. Been using Airtel broadband for the last 4 years. There's been very less downtime and I haven't had any problems with service till now.

I am also in the same area as the original poster, and face the same problem. At my place, Airtel does not have any "feasibility" - the only options are BSNL and TTSL. The latter is way too expensive for my liking, so BSNL (4 Mbps/20 GB @1350 + tax) is what I take.

Though since mine is a big colony, outages affect many people and complaints are attended to rather quickly (for BSNL, that is).

Thanks...
Normally BSNL is quick to respond even to complaints on selfcare portal. This time no response from any number. If you have any contact number for complaint, please PM. thanks in advance.

I recently shifted to Beam - fiber based broadband connection, paid 6110 for 6 months with an advanced rental pack of 15 MBPS unlimited download(30GB fair usage). Mind blowing connectivity and downloaded a patch of 500 mb in flat 12 minutes. :D

Came across this article on the web.

Hi all ,
Has anyone tried the MTNL FTTH any reviews ? Apparently it isn't available everywhere yet to limited areas where they have a setup in place ! MTNL isn't famous for it s speed to setup new connections . Charges are nt very steep 790 a month for 10mbps upto 12Gb 512kbps there after .

The biggest problem with MTNL is their service. If your connection works fine, it's great. If there is a problem - all you can do is pray. Their people will come and reset your equipment and hope it works. Then they will right click on your desktop and click on refresh and hope that fixes any problems.

Hi guys I live in Pune. I wanted to ask how is the performance and service of You Telecom broadband? Is it cost effective and is the speed good? I'm looking for unlimited plans.

Thanks

Hi Guys,

Can anyone let me know if Airtel/Tata Indicom provide any prepaid plans for broadband in Bangalore. The reason I am asking this is that- I need to travel frequently and am tired of paying the bills when I am not in the city.. In that way, I would only recharge , when I am in Bangalore, something like Tata Sky

I got Sify FTTH last month and it's pretty good. 60mbps downstream, 35-40mbps up, 19-22ms ping. They have a ridiculous FUP of 60GB after which the speed will be throttled to 30mbps, but I have downloaded more than a terabyte of stuff and am still getting full 60mbps down. It's still not a bad deal at 30mbps unlimited fiber.

Cost, about Rs.3300 incl of tax. They're doing free installations and giving out free routers now.

Guys, what are the broadband (8 to 16 mbps )options available in South Delhi (Ambedkar Nagar - Khanpur area). Airtel don't have service here. Using Tata Broadband2 750 kbps. Their 8 mbps plans are very costly when compared to Airtel.

Kindly help.

Cheers!

Vinu

Approximately 1200 Rs for 15Mbps beam cable in Hyderabad. I am very satisfied with the service, been using it for the last 1+ years, no disconnects till now except for few hours of maintenance schedule.

FUP is 30GB

I am assuming this is a one time cost for first installation or monthly charges ?

I pay 1399 + 12.36% = Rs.1572/- to Airtel for 30GB/2Mbps plan in Gurgaon.

I think it is too high. Once I surrendered the connection but lack of option, I had to again take a new connection of Airtel Broadband.

On top it, they say they can't provide more than 2mbps in my area (proper Gurgaon). :deadhorse

I am slightly better off than you - I pay 1425 + tax = 1600 to BSNL for 4Mbps/20GB plan (with 50 free local calls) in Bangalore. My apartment society is negotiating with ACT (Beam) so I'm hoping to get on something that is sufficiently "broad" soon. :-)

Though, for the address-proof-worthiness of BSNL I will have to retain it.

Monthly. It's prepaid. Installation is free.
