Chitranshu & Akshay I'm not sure whether it is anything to be proud about. Things like this are responsible for the present road safety situation in our country

Ok, I understand, I learnt driving 4-5 years back and I just used to move the car in or out of the garage, I never drove it for more than a half a kilometer.

With All due respects MileCruncher, Perhaps you have not noticed that I mentioned I drove with my dad for 3 years. And I never mentioned that a its a reason to be proud. Moreover if you actually look at the statistics and in real world too, the incidents causing the safety threat to the present road conditions are more by the so called owner of drivers license than "things like this are responsible for the present road safety situation in our country".

I guess this is a learned forum. And when one making a comment, they should understand the impact of their words too. Nothing personal ! Just a thought.

You say you drove with your dad. Were you holding a learner's licence. If not, you were breaking the law, for whatsoever reason may be.

You are absolutely right, this is a learned forum and members of this forum try to set examples for others in terms of rule obeyance, traffic safety et al.

Only in India we have this "Give two hoots" attitude towards the law. Also since the process of getting a licence is a sham nobody. If the process of getting licence was more stringent, people would have realised how big a responsibility it is to drive.

Great to see the discussion turn to The Doors, one of my favourite bands.

I too am truly a 'retro' model and love the music of that era.

Cheers,
