Autofest City News - June 2009

Dear Patrons, friends & well-wishers,

The first newspaper to share our happy moment of winning the National Record, was the STAR OF MYSORE, our city’s leading English evening daily.

The editorial board was very generous, dedicating three pages of their Weekend Supplement on 20th June, to the City. While we are priviledged to honour them as Patrons of Autofest City, we once again thank everyone at the newspaper for the excellent coverage.

We continue with our introductions of the new entrants to Autofest City. Here is the link to the newsletter : V8-I6 June 2009.pdf - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage

This issue will surely make very interesting reading!

Best regards,
Neil D’Costa

My collection.

I had been enjoying drooling over many models you guys posted here but never bothered to contribute-one reason being that my collection is very very modest.
I used to have very small(I think 1:64) plymouth and a yellow Merc SLK in my schooldays. Those were the first two diecast models am introduced too. Prior to that all I knew is about plastic models that are available in fairs-had a couple of jeeps,trucks-all of moderate size only, never interested in big ones(~1:18) for big ones were uncomfortable to play with and to store also(in those days)
After I started earning money,I got two jeeps(rubicons) of 1:24 scale not die cast but plastic and rubber-of good quality though. After that got an SLK and some porsche (1:18 scale) ,both made of plastic.Eventually got a few die cast models:a rubicon(1:35),SLK350(1:32) and a Cayenne turbo(1:38).
Now, only the recent diecast models remain with me as I had either donated or lost most of my earlier ones.
Ok, here I stop boring you .

Cyrus,
I had seen a red ElCamino sometime recently in one of the shops in Hyderabad. In red it looked great, but headlights(being maisto make) were not impressive. It was priced about Rs.1500.This one from Ertl seems better.
