My cousin got it from US. I shortlisted the desired models on diecastmodelswholesale.com and he placed the order on the same website.
The engine-bay detailing is really poor but the car is considerably lighter in weight compared to the normal Murci's I have!:)

The 1989 348tb, my very first model in 1995 (BBurago, Italy)

Pictures of the two kits if anyone is interested. These are very very rare kits and rarely come up for sale. I consider myself very lucky to have them. But they did come at a cost. A cost that is worth it considering the completed cars cost $1000 or more!

These kits have been made by APM, who are considered to be a very premium exotic model manufacturer.

Wow, great I am in love with the kits. This will be the finest kit in terms of finish. But my only grouse / question is why they have all the stuff in only one material, like the tyres are not rubber. Are you going to have another 1:24 kit to use some parts and are you goiing to buy the High detail photoetch parts.

This is a transformation kit, therefore the original tyres fit directly on them. :D And they are 1:18 not 1:24. The base model is a Hotwheels Ferrari 360 and California.

Yep. The parts will take a few weeks to come and I will do the cars only after I come back to India. I need my space and paint supplies. :)

:D Like the original Etios, the scale models also seems to be built to a price. I think its a smart move by Toyota to make the scale models along with the original models. An Etios for you and an Etios for your kid - the result is a happy family with brand Toyota.

That is exactly Toyota's game plan, that of making the "Toyota" name synonymous with every Indian, similar to what Bajaj did with its "Chunnu, Munnu de Pappa de Gaddi" - Chetak and "Fill it, Shut it, Forget it" - Hero Honda. The only thing that has changed is the medium: earlier advertisements wooed and now models are taking over, slowly.

Above all, kids now-a-days are the best mediums for effective brand building.
