Re: The Scale Model Thread

My contribution to the thread. Nothing fancy but these are all from my childhood. Cleaned them and put them up for show. Remembering the good old simple days when me and another friend from my building would meet with our hot wheels after school to play.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

In the process of modifying a scale model to be like my car, I was looking for a set of recovery boards in a scale close enough to 1/32. I was pleasantly surprised when a colleague of mine 3D printed me a set! Incidentally, this is the first 3D printed model I’ve ever had/received.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Has anyone tried Scalearts.in? The scale models on their website look really good but wondering what the actual quality is like?

They are authentic and sell genuine products with proper packaging while shipping.

They are the original branded products and sold as per MRP. All major brands are sold by them. So be rest assured on the originality and the quality of the products. They need you to document an unpacking video of the package in case of any damage claims.

That’s great to know. They have some really good stuff and the question on quality was holding me back. Definitely ordering something this weekend.

+1 to Maverick5490

I have also purchased a few products from them and always had a good experience. Genuine products, with good packing and timely shipping. All fine in my experiences.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Picked this up yesterday in Gurgaon. This is 1:24 and fairly detailed. The arcylic case always make them look better. I went to look for 1:64 but they were a little too expensive.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Guys any good scale model shops in Washington DC or New York City? I am here for a week and would like to skim through. Also looking for acrylic cases for 1:64 models. For some reason Amazon US is charging me 7 dollars for delivery.

Sharing a list of websites I have bought my 1:64 collection from:

* https://www.karzanddolls.com

* https://miniaturetoyshop.com

* https://tooneywheels.in

* https://www.303diecastshop.in/

* https://sarvamshop.in

* https://krazycaterpillar.com

* https://www.toycollectorsindia.com

* https://minitoysworld.com

For models that I couldn't find here in India I bought off these two websites below:

* https://www.desertcart.in/

* https://www.ebay.com/

For diorama parking mats I'd recommend:

* https://www.diftcluboriginals.com/ho...ramaparkingmat

Decided to put 'em up on one of the walls at home
Happy collecting!!

Re: The Scale Model Thread

A wonderful annual Trade Meet event organised by the Beantown Collectors Fraternity.
This time and last time at Hatworks Bangalore.
Went there with Dad yesterday. Lots of aficionados and some lovely collections of cars.
Predictably I ended up buying a few. The most notable amongst which is this one, the 1949 Simca Gordini.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Picked up this RAF truck (seems to be made by Lledo, not 100% sure though) from an Antique shop earlier today.

I tried to take some "environmental" photos as well. The truck is so photogenic!

I love that truck!
I also love the way you’ve juxtaposed it in the Black and White photo along with the RAF Biggin Hill board- those old WW2 Airfields were the sites of the Radar early warning systems when the Luftwaffe Air Raid onslaught was happening…
I too found a similar little old green truck in a flea market in Zurich or Interlaken or somewhere while on holiday and promptly bought it. But mine is more 1950’s than 1940’s.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

The following were added to the collection, some unique, rare models as well:

McLaren Mercedes SLR, Maisto, China: Lovely paint job and decently detailed engine bay. Interiors detailed as expected from most Maisto models.

Lamborghini Aventador, Bburago, China: Metallic paint worthy of the Lambo and smooth operation of the door panels, decent detailing on the interiors and engine bay.

With the idea of adding some non-Europeans to the collection, I started with the Americans

Dodge Viper SRT, Bburago, Italy: Average paint quality, though level of detail is pretty decent, attention to detail on the engine bay.

Corvette C5, Bburago, Italy: Much better paint quality than the Viper, better details on the interior as well. Closures open and close with a nice solidity.

Ford GT90 , Maisto, Thailand: One of those rare finds and a car from my childhood days of playing NFS 2. Very intricately detailed interiors.

Pagani Hyuara, Motormax, Italy: The person I bought it from bought this model from the Pagani museum in Italy and apparently this model is not available anywhere else. The replication of the Carbon fibre weave makes for an interesting pattern, though not quite the same as the original car. Lovely level of detail on the interiors, engine bay and brake calipers.
