Re: The Scale Model Thread

Added my third BBR. This time it’s a Ferrari F12 TDF in the stunning Grigio Titanio shade to go with the 812 that I have in a similar shade. This is a proper die cast model with opening parts. Will do a detailed shoot soon.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Through out my childhood, my world was hotwheels, matchbox and other miniatures and anything that could go along with it. Soap boxes, match boxes, just anything. My collection was more than 100 cars and then decades later, I was blessed with a baby boy and he took over the collection. Few survived. I later realized that I should have introduced him to the collection when he was ready for it. Today he takes such good care of his scaled models that few stay in the box unopened. He calls it mint condition. Anyway, that was a lesson learnt the hard way.

There was a small gap between one of my my job changes in which I got reintroduced to scaled models and I build my first diorama. I wrote about it over here.

https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/shift...ve-change.html (Diorama with Supercar scale models | A perspective change)

Now with this my thirst to make it a little more refined increased. I sat with my regular carpenter and designed a simple but effective showcase to keep them safe. The final result was something I really liked. He did it the way I visualized it.

It's got glass on 3 sides and each shelf has it's own illumination source. The carpenter himself got pretty involved to get this right.

The first shelf has my son's 1:64 collection now and a very few of mine. Most of them are his. These are again 100+ now.

The second shelf has new age cars.

I am not hurrying and growing this rather slowly with some good stuff. While searching, I was glued on to Amaldam (https://www.amalgamcollection.com/) collection but then I woke up to reality. Well, someday !

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Guys visited the thread after many many years and its great to see a good activity over here. I have been collecting and increasing my collection. It is more streamlined and I also do click pictures. Attaching one image of the 1:18 VW Dune Buggy by Solido along with Captain Haddock in Goa India.

There were a few Fiat Premier station wagons and hatchbacks in the 1970’s. My friend’s father had one - Red with a white roof. A very practical car for family and luggage.

Im not sure whether they came from the factory or whether they were coach built. Because for a time, Fiat/ Premier also sold the chassis and engine combo allowing the buyer to make it into a light truck or station wagon or similar.

Bro, yes CJ2A had low bonnet. But the scale model in pictures is actually a CJ2A/ 3A looking at other details. Yes the bonnet height is incorrect.
