@Superselect : The Linea looks admirable! Didnt you get one in a larger scale, or did you prefer this?

No man ! This was the only scale available.. Got it from Concorde Motors, the FIAT dealer in Mumbai. Would love to get a larger one if available. (Eventually a 1:1 scale ).

I thought that I would share a recent experience.
I collect scale models, but also old models which are basically toys of old days but very nice. So I collect nice ones, and they are brought to me for approval/purchase.
About 3 months ago my Charie comes up with a nice steam roadster, missing only the burner, but quite a bit used. It looked old and I was interested, there were some nice steam driven toys available in the olden days. He wanted 60K, too much for me and I left it, but took pics and offered to some friends. No one was keen and story was over.
Or so I thought. Charlie came back last week, saying that the vendor needs money and will give at a discount. I told him that my limit is 25K. He cribbed, tried to push up to 30K. I said no. Anyway, he still bought it over. I told him that my limit is 25K. He then suggested that I give him the money and he would try to convince the vendor with cash in hand, a common gimmick. I counted out the money, and suddenly there was divine intervention. The make on the car was Mamod, a strange name which could only be old. By the divine intervention I checked on the net. And there was Mamod company selling brand new pieces @ GBP 168!!! So my money was saved. I do not think that my Charie was trying to cheat, if you see the picture the roadster does look old.
This just goes to show that we always get new experiences and learn.
Recently I visited the NSW bike museum. Lovely bikes, and they also displayed some tin motocycle toys. There was one piece which I have also lying in my junk. On return that piece has been rehabilitated. Shall post a pic soon.

I finally picked up two models that have been on my list for a long time. The first one is a Mercedes Benz E320 W124 by Autoart. I'll post pictures of the other one in a few days.

I tried something a little different with the photography this time. Let me know what you'll think.

The next model on my list is the Nissan R32 GT-R in grey again by Autoart.

Not sure if this fits in here, but came across a scale model of a chevrolet v8 engine which works! See: Moyer Made - Projects: 1/6th Scale Chevrolet V8

(Mods, please move this to appropriate thread if it doesn't fit in here)
