This is my setup! I work from home a fair bit and this setup has evolved over the past couple of years. When at my desk [be it "home office" or "office office" I prefer to work on a desktop and use a laptop only when I am on the move or making presentations to Clients. The black Ikea lamp is the latest addition. Bought it some time ago but finally got it on my desk during this weeks cleanup! The white lamp is a Wipro LED desk lamp that can be adjusted not only for brightness but also for colour temperature! It can be adjusted for cool white, neutral white and warm white. I find it extremely useful.
I prefer warm white for general working but when I'm taking photos of documents, I switch over to cool white. I might switch over to the Ikea lamp completely and use this only for taking photos of documents. The monitor is a 32" LG and the keyboard is an Arteck wireless keyboard. The missus complained that my mechanical keyboard was too noisy! This setup is in my bedroom. I have oodles of storage above the workspace. My printer and three tubs [holding various items segregated according to type/usage] go in the shelf above me. I can easily reach up and grab printouts as they come out of the printer. Next upgrade is going to be a good work chair. Been putting this off for wayyy to long! The cable management also needs some work. :D

I have a dedicated work from home setup and a work from anywhere setup. My preference evolved slowly backwards to desktop from the wireless mode. I use my work anywhere setup only when I truly out of my home space. These pictures here below will explain both my setups
My home office got this little desktop train toy to make me smile all the time ☺️

@avis4398 - this is a very clever one I've seen. Simple, functional and importantly it's concealed once the doors are shut. Loved this! Would you mind sharing a pic with the cabinet door closed ?
This is my home office. In fact it is my only office. The model aircraft are changed every few days :-) That's a MiG-25 Foxbat you see on the right against the wall :-) with a Boeing C-17 of the IAF on its left. After retirement I converted one room into an office-cum-study-cum-meeting room. It took me a while to get into the discipline and rhythm of a working day at home. So on days I am operating from my home-office my day is 9:00AM to 1:00PM. Then I leave my 'office' and go 'home' for lunch.:D

@akshays : Thanks! Here you go. You can see the storage unit I have above the printer shelf. This was basically a wardrobe niche in the bedroom that I converted into a workspace. Incorporated the wardrobe in the main bedroom itself.

Interesting thread. Posting my setup.:thumbs up
On table, there are 2 laptops. One is my office one (which is heavily restricted) and the other one is my personal. My desktop computer monitor which was not used from several years is now coming handy for me. I prefer bigger monitor display for my office work and hence I am doing that through HDMI cable. I have HP printer on extreme left, which is again not used from few months. I need to order cartridge ASAP.
Then and now, my kids curiosity makes them to come inside my room and started asking questions to me.
Infact, they are actually reminding me that the table belongs to them as well. :D

Some lovely set-ups that TBHP-ians have !

@Avis, can you share details of the "stands" that are on the shutters, and the desk lamp ?

I was expecting more models, dada. :)
In the transition from occasional work-from-home to a regular practice, I found a family heirloom belonging to my wife's family which came rather handy!
Used for notebooks of a different kind back in the day, I find that my present 'book' fits and at a comfortable angle too

Although I used to go to office every single day, I did have a desk. Once the WFH regime started, quickly bought an external keyboard, and dusted an old laptop stand.

Need a help from the WFH gurus here.
Am a Management Consultant professional and I am a newbie for the WFH set-up and have never done that in my professional career. Due to the CoVID, we have been mandated to WFH from 17th till further notice.
With the present simple chair at home I am finding it difficult ( am 41 years old) to sit for a long time. Can people suggest a good chair with high back support (head rest is not required)?? Need to buy at the earliest.

Hi,
You can look at the Amazon Basics high back executive chair. I have the midback chairs at office and they are pretty comfortable. I was a little apprehensive about how the artifical leather (aka rexine or leatherite) would be with Chennai weather but it has been pretty much of a non issue. The AC is on more or less half the time. Hope this helps!

You're playing with fire! Only a matter of time before the kitty decides
