Re: Pros & Cons of working from home

On a slightly different, but related note, how many people have started going back to the office? I hear that some IT companies have started calling their employees back. What are the changes? Have the offices spread out the seating? I assume there will be temperature checks at the entrance and things like that.

Re: Pros & Cons of working from home

All people who support work from home for permanent will realize this is like the proverbial camel in the tent story. Slowly this will cast itself on your personal life. Always on cameras, non stop meetings, blurring timelines will take a toll on your health and personal life. A person isolating himself in the house for long hours will have more serious negative effects on the partner or kids than a person spending long hours in office. In this case he/she is there but always engaged.

Many companies are taking advantage and pushing WFH as a cost cutting measure.
Some people in other countries with work visa are supporting WFH. If this is the norm, the company can ask them move back to India and do WFH. Why visas like H1B and L1 be ever required?
