Hey fonsi,

Second hand accent or a ikon is a gamble IMO.
Lancer i cant comment on.
Go for a City 1.5 or VTEC, the only bad part is the rear seat ride (mostly at speed), but im guessint you aint gonna be doing much of that.

Go in for the VTEC. I doubt you'll regret it. Fantastic performance, good FE and as lot of owners on the board have already proved, darn cheap to maintain too. Though the rear seat ride is a gripe, but a VTEC under the hood, i really doubt you are going to spend much time in the back. Do get some good rubber for the VTEC though.

Hey Fonsi,

Well the rear seat is average in terms of space and legroom.
Its the ride quality thats the problem! its a bit bouncy.. and promotes motion sickness at times :P

Go in for a Vtec, but, as GTO and Shan2nu had mentioned in some earlier posts, the pre sept 2002 models have an engine knocking problem.
City 1.5 is my second preference, followed by Ikon and then by Accent and the City 1.3 .
We own an Accent, and as far as seating 3 ppl at the back is concerned it is not a problem atleast in the Accent. But, the rear seats are very low, and not very comfi.

Vtec/1.5/Lancer/City1.3/Ikon/Accent in order. Like others say...space isn't a problem in the city...just the ride quality.

The ride quality is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, but its still no great shakes. That and the really low seat height make the rear seat a pain. But hey, who cares about the people at the back? I dont!

Go for the Vtec if you want to be really and truly happy. With every drive. With every gear shift.

Else go for the Lancer.

hey fonsi
would suggest anything in the honda city range, coz of good resale value,honda relaiblity, cheap spares

if not, a good second hand baleno

then would come a accent

if u r intrested why not a scorpio?

ps:the baleno altura is still being sold,today took my pet to the aminal clinic, there was a shiny new golden colour altura, talked with the owner, it seems he got a 1 lac discount on it!

My choices would be ::::

1. Baleno ---sheer value for yr money , equals in performance *to *the classic 1.5 city

2000 Baleno cost approx 2.50, while 2000 1.5 city cost * * *3.75 approx, a saving of 1.25 is all worth considering u * *get the same performance and ride quality , but without the *Honda tag.

2. *IKon 1.6 Zxi *2000 will be 2.35
* * good leg room at rear
* * fun to drive in city ,
* * Good handling
* * Good low end torque

3. * Vtec , sheer performance , but at a price compared to the *rest , its best power and FE combination.
* * 2000 model will set u back by approx 4.25-4.40

4. Lancer, the car , if looks matter to u the most.
*the car with the best comfort level in the all the * * * * * * * * options mentioned , awesome legroom at the rear, car is * stable at high speed,
**Lacks power , average torque for city driving.
**Poor resale when compaerd to Hondas
**2000 SFX can be fetched for approx 400000 max( maybe * *less *also )
