no i dont think so, in fact another group robbed a jewelry store in abu dhabi few days back.

Anything further on this, were they caught or known ??

This thing is not possible without any highly influencial political support and great mind planing,for the first time in my life i heard about a robbery in Dubai.

Guess those guys have been caught as i checked out Youtube for information.

What's the punishment they can expect for this kind of "stunt"?

I've heard that the punishments are very severe. People who ogle (not at cars :D) get their eyes gouged out, muggers and thieves get their limbs chopped off etc. Do the authorities still mete out this kind of punishment?

Yup, it looked like something out of Ocean's Eleven. Its not that bad in Dubai, Aditya. It Saudi Arabia which has extremely strict laws. They follow the Shariat there. So decapitation, maiming, blinding, stoning etc happens there.
