Registered, but while trying to book appointment, it shows nothing for any dates. Hopefully it should sort out in the next few days
Any recommendations on which vaccine to opt for (assuming I get a slot)? My location has both Covishield(Astra Zeneca) as well as Covaxin(Bharat Biotech). Parents got Astra Zeneca Covishield(2 shots completed) and they did not have any post vaccine symptoms except for pain in arm for 1-2 days.
Maybe a stupid question- Since parents have already taken Covishield with no side-effects, is it safer to go for that(since I have their genes/dna) ? Not questioning the vaccine efficacy or otherwise
As expected :
COWIN WEBSITE CRASHES AS REGSITRATION OPENS FOR 18+ https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/...g/82267160.cms
I was only able to register. All centers in bangalore (Urban/Rural) are open only for 45+.
PS : A good sign, I guess. The second wave has really put the fear in the hearts of people to get vaccinated.
The registration process is working fine now. I have registered myself successfully although not able to schedule an appointment, as it seems that particular link is not working yet.
As expected the CoWin site became stale and unresponsive. Somehow after couple of tries it allowed me in. Member registration was smooth. But, couldn't schedule any slot for vaccination. All the PHC's/Hospitals available in the site allows scheduling for 45+ aged people only. Have to wait until the slots open.
Another shot in the arm for Covaxin
https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/coro...-fauci-2423455 Quote:
Covaxin, India's home-grown Covid vaccine produced by Bharat Biotech, has been found to neutralise the B.1.617 variant or the Indian double mutant strain, White House Chief Medical Adviser Anthony Fauci said on Tuesday.
"Now, this is something where we're still gaining data on a daily basis. But the most recent data was looking at convalescent sera of COVID-19 cases in people who received the vaccine used in India, the Covaxin. And it was found to neutralise the 617 variant," he said, according to news agency PTI.
"So despite the real difficulty that we're seeing in India, vaccination could be a very, very important antidote against this," Dr Fauci was quoted as telling reporters.

The price of Covishield has been reduced from Rs.400 per dose to Rs.300 per dose for the states.
I am still seeing this message. Has there been any change in how vaccine registration is done through the Aarogya Setu app?

Go directly to the CO-WIN portal:
https://www.cowin.gov.in/home
It is allowing registration of 18-44, BUT many states (like KA) are out of sufficient stock of vaccines, so appointments for 18-44 are still not open.

Try
https://www.cowin.gov.in/ site. Age limit is not updated in Aarogya Setu app and no SMS received from Cowin app.
This is only for registration. Vaccine procurement & scheduling is delegated to the state govt. I think that will take 2 months in the best case, due to supply & logistics constraints.
Is Sputnik vaccine tested/reliable?

So he still won't give it to us for $3 or $4 as he is giving to other poor countries, USA, Britain, Bangladesh?
Philanthropic gesture, lol

Isn't Rs. 300 comes to about $4?
But yes calling it philanthropic is just misleading. I think due to all media questioning and state government objections, he was forced to lower it.
Guys, from previous posts i understood that it would be better to search by the district instead of the PIN code. I tried this for my town of Palakkad in Kerala and this is what it returns. Can you tell me what else i should try.

Nothing, just have to wait. This is the same situation all over. They are probably waiting for vaccine availability before opening it up for the inevitable mad rush! |
But when i changed the district to Coimbatore, it is showing me a wide selection of hospitals and the even availability in those.
