Tried to reschedule on cowin site. As of last 45 minutes I am not getting the OTP to login. Tried installing Arogya setu. Same experience. No OTP.

Eventually got the OTP and after two unsuccessful attempts, finally managed to get my first dose. Covishield at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital.

I heartily recommend Dinanath for Punekars. Though it is a covid hospital, the vaccination is carried out in a separate building. Also crowd management was excellent by the staff. Overall a pleasant experience.

I agree, DMH's vaccination process is quite smooth and efficient. I took my first dose there on April 2. Reached there at 9.15 am, and was back home at 11 am, even though my token number was 121.

Open to all above 18 years from 1st May. Details to follow.

Everyone above the age of 18 to be eligible to get vaccine from May 1, says govt. Hope this works better now and vaccine is available for many, given the number of youth affected in second wave this news comes in as a relief

Same experience for me at DMH. Smooth process and well managed by staff.
I was out in 1 hour even though I was 80th in inline.

Sanjeevan Hospital on Karve road also has set up a good process. The difference compared to DMH is that they have open sitting space as compared to enclosed one in DMH.

Delighted to hear that. I've been feeling sad that youngsters didn't even have a date to look forward to.

Apparently, the vaccination drive is going to be de-centralised and the responsibility lies on the state government to procure vaccines. Here's a thread on it - https://twitter.com/sritara/status/1384167852769353732

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I think the situation in India is mirroring that of USA towards end of last year - a lack of an exit strategy and blame shifting to local govts.

I received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine here in Dubai today. The registration was very easy and was done via the DHA (Dubai Health Authority) app. Had some mild side effects such as pain in the injection area and mild chillness.

I tried to register with CoWin. Gov.in and it wasn't allowing me (less that 45 years ) to get registered. I wanted to know if anyone else was able to register.

It was the request of many state governments wasn't it? Mostly from the opposition ruled states i think. Just hope we cross the peak fast. With lockdowns, curfews and an ever increasing count it is rather depressing.

If I understood the government announcements correctly, private hospitals will be sourcing the shots directly from the drug companies from May 1. This will perhaps mean the government limit of Rs. 250 per shot will go away and hospitals will be free to charge whatever amount they deem fit. This will also be the way to introduce the more expensive vaccines (Sputnik, Pfizer, etc) into the market, I suppose.

Quite possibly you might have to wait until May 1st itself.

I had my 1st jab on March 3rd, at Apollo, Perungudi, Chennai. I would have taken second on 31st, but just before that they extended the period.

Yesterday, I looked at the CoWin app and saw availability of over 200 places at ProMed Hospital in Kotivakkam, only 15 minutes walk away. Despite it disturbing my eccentric owl-like body clock, I booked an early slot and was there by about 9.15. Whilst the process was not quite as silky-smooth as Apollo, and the social distancing of those waiting and those under observation was not as good, I have no other complaints, and, most important, I left, about 90 minutes later, a recipient of the (currently) full vaccination course. I was able to download my "Final Certificate") immediately.

It was the most painless injection I have ever had! I was not even aware of it.

I reacted quite badly to the first shot: waiting to see what happens for the rest of today!

I am absolutely delighted that vaccinations are going to be open to all above 18, assuming that supplies and services can keep up with that. On a selfish note, I am also glad to have completed my vaccination, as an over-60, before the huge demand that will, or should, happen on and after May 1st.

My thoughts are: please folks, do not listen to the nonsense. Yes, nothing is 100% known, there are risks, and people have caught covid after vaccination. It is simply not known how long this protection will last, or what variants in the future it may or may not protect against. But the vaccines we have are our best chance. For the sake of self and others, give them a chance. Get vaccinated!

With a zillion cases in BLR now, I am thinking not to wait for 6 weeks for my second Covishield shot, but to go at 4 weeks only. Is this advisable given the lower efficacy at 4 weeks?

The 1 May announcement also worries me that we will run out of vaccines.

I don't think you need to worry about that. As far as I know, your second dose is already reserved. Also second dose recipients get priority over first timers.

Opening it up for such a large age band seems very risky. Too many people will start to gather at vaccination centres without any social distancing whatsoever.

They could have opened it for a 5 year bracket at a time. (45-40, 40-35 etc)
