So, as Undekhi season 3 started, i watched the recap only to think I havent watched season 2. So i get onto season 2 and into the 6th episode am kicking myself as to why did i get suckered into watching it at all. It is such a let down compared to season 1. Forwarding much, so i can get to season 3. It has mixed reviews. Will post if and when i finish.

Another amazing British/Irish series that dropped on Netflix. It's a hilarious crime/comedy caper with the main cast being an American, Irish and British in the beautiful locales of a small town-Bodkin in Ireland.

Finished 3-episodes and it keeps getting better and better. It's part mystery, thriller, satire. It’s a 7-episode series about a podcaster, an investigative journalist and protégée who set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of 3-strangers in a quaint Irish town.

When they start interviewing people in that town (for purposes of their podcast), they unearth several skeletons from their closet and find a story much bigger and stranger than they could have imagined.

The story is filled with twists and turns and filled with quirky characters with atypical Irish names and is an entertaining and well thought out series.

I especially loved the opening credit. Highly recommend if you are looking for some suspense clubbed with ample doses of humor.

Else you’ll join the long list of Mindhunter fans who have been left in the lurch, with only 2 seasons and the storyline cut midway at an exciting point. And seemingly no light at the end of the tunnel.

Loved the humour and the famous Irish accent! The last 2 episodes were dragged on a bit, nevertheless a great series!

I still revisit that series and get mad at what could have been. So much built up all up in smoke. Its one of the top shows for me.

I am enjoying this afternoon snack called "humble pie". This because I had dissed the series without actually watching Undekhi season 3. Well, what a comeback by the team clap: - edge of seat thrills like season 1. Icing on the cake is thorough exploitation of locales - Manali, marhi, naggar, bits of spiti (might by lahaul actually) including drone shots. The storytelling in this beats season 1 and definitely leaves season 2 in the dust. All actors except Shruthy Menon are good but Surya Sharma aka Rinku paaji is the champ. For a change you'd end up rooting for him, such are the twists. :Cheering:

Episodes 3-5 are a bit slower but then it picks up pace again and the last one, what a final . Binge watch material (on Sony LIV)

I finally caught up with the last two episodes. Frankly the ending was a bit too stupid. The plot had been going well

A Scottish crime thriller on the lines of "Line of Duty". It was gripping to the extent that I just about completed watching this minutes before touchdown in Bangalore

Not streaming in India but watch out for it if it lands

Here is the most powerful scene from Shogun, it literally gives goose bumps. The authenticity of the period is outstanding. They are speaking 16th century Japanese and fighting with the main melee weapons of that era, she with the Naginata and the soldiers with the Yari. Samurai sword was not really a battle weapon.

As you said, an extraordinary scene. And I wonder how much of this heritage has survived in the Japanese culture of today.
I spent a good part of my sea career with the Japaneses shipping giant Mitsui, where the ships I was on would be calling at the home ports. One of these was Aomori, in northern (Tohoku region) Japan. Like most of Japan away from Metro cities, Aomori has an intoxicating beauty. My wife and I were walking back to the ship one night through the wooded neighborhood. We waited (for a good 5 min or so) at one point while an army of land crabs crossed the road ahead of us. It was a fairly bright moonlit night – it was summer, so no snow – and the scene has remained rivetted in my mind.
If we were ever forced (at gun point probably!) to leave India and choose to live elsewhere, it would be somewhere in hilly rural Japan.

Am with you till this point. But by episode 6 the plot had started to go completely haywire and the 7th episode just sealed its fate as a complete disappointment.

Someone once told me that good writers first write the ending and then the rest falls into place. Have been noticing a lot of series following this pattern of building up a great story and then mucking up the ending completely. Can think of Fool Me Once and The Night Agent (*not* The Night Manager) as well as the aforementioned Bodkin!

Yeahh, a lot of series now start off good and by the end make no sense or just completely mess up the story. It sucks because by that time you had invested a lot of time into it.
Among the few I recently watched, two come to my mind -

1. The Man in the High Castle - the storyline looked promising but they kept making it more and more complex and the ending just did not make any sense.

2. 1899 - by the director of much acclaimed series Dark. Complete nonsense - avoid at all costs! Maybe if they had got a chance to make season 2, some of it had made some sense. But Season 1 was just boring and I kept waiting for something interesting to happen everytime there was a build up.

Oh shoot! I am still at Episode 4 and enjoyed it till now. I need to find time and the TV remote from family that just does not seem to come into my hands as in most households the interests vary so unable to continue till date.

Will complete it next week but, thanks for the heads up. I agree to what you are saying but, I normally give up most of OTT series in the first 1-2 episodes and if I survive it means I can survive till the end.

Fool Me Once was as you rightly said was awesome till maybe a couple of episodes but, this Harlan Coben hype and style is being overdone. I gave up on this series in the first few episodes.

Night Agent was rather fine and I didn't deal with a lot of disappointment.

But, in general Brit series are lot more entertaining than their American counterparts from a quantity to quality ratio.
