Web series - Ted Lasso
OTT - Apple TV
Ted Lasso is one of those shows that you put off long thinking thats just another slapstick comedy. But I finally plunged in pirate infested waters to extract this treasure of a series which definitely left me crying and smiling at the same time.
I connected with Ted at every step as I never bothered for the EPL and the lack of requirements for acute football knowledge helped. The supporting cast definitely got the memo and it shows that the characters playing the roles are actually the writers. The positivity and emotions sometimes feel overloaded but give it enough time and it all fits perfectly.
Rating 4.8/5
Contrary to the positive comments on Black Doves, I found it poorly written with tons of plot holes. Won't go into them here, but felt like I wasted several hours of my life watching it. Giving it a 1.5/5, with the 1.5 mostly because of Keira Knightley's performance.
Have started watching 1883 on Prime Video, which is a prequel miniseries to the Western cowboy series Yellowstone. So far so good, with my only critique being that of the voiceover narrator's, some of whose lines are plain yawn-inducing. The brutal and harsh life led by those without modern amenities living off the largely lawless land is eye-opening and makes you appreciate modern comforts more :) Giving this a 4/5 for the acting, writing and the brutal realities of life in 19th century America.
A highly anticipated release was the second and final season of Arcane, an animated series following characters from the League of Legends game. While the first season is an undisputed masterpiece, the second suffers from pacing issues with the showrunners trying to cram in too many plots into a limited run of 9 episodes. Despite this, the show has many great moments and is absolutely worth your time. Watch both S1 and S2 over a weekend if possible, you'll be left entertained, heartbroken and introduced to a richly detailed world that would have otherwise been limited to a relatively niche MMORPG environment. 4/5 for season 2, 5/5 for Season 1.

Terrible show. Far too stretched, awful storyline, weak script. I’m not sure why I sat through it - I guess the perils when you get to 30 - 40% of a series you feel inclined to see it through to the end. |
As this series meandered itself slowly towards its climax, I thought of at least 2 possible endings that were way better than what eventually transpired! Maybe I am in the wrong profession :D

Thank you! I was wondering if I got it wrong somehow. Didn't get much beyond 2 episodes because of the gaping plot holes. Disappointing especially since am a fan of Keira Knightley.

I got Apple TV+ recently and this is on my watchlist. Also came here to recommend my first Apple TV watch: Bad Sisters. This Irish thriller drama is so packed with humour and intelligence that it just blew me away. And what a beautiful country Ireland is- I need to add it to my bucket list of places to see.

This is a superb British Thriller/Spy series in my opinion. It appears that we might have a season 2. There are few plot holes here and there. The Jackal character is supposed to be a under the radar assassin but in this series the character deviates from it! Nevertheless would definitely recommend it for a watch. |
I would second this. There is also good product placement for Omega and BMW. Eddie Redmayne is Omega's brand ambassador so there's always a shot of his watch.

I would also recommend Tehran (Spy drama) and Silo (end of the world sci-fi) on Apple Tv+. Silo recently launched season 2 which I haven't been able to catch yet. Season 1 starts off slow but builds up well.

Regarding Apple TV+, if you have not added Shrinking to your watchlist yet, then I highly recommend that you do. It is one of those rare series that can make you laugh and cry within one episode! It is like Modern Family meets Ted Lasso.
These are the only series I have watched, and I’m still watching them on CDs borrowed from the library: The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon.
Ohh, Yes, I do watch movies as if they were a series, in 20-minute segments.

Wow:thumbs up I am eagerly waiting for this. Thanks for sharing. I liked the series better than the movie. :)
A dark comedy called ''The Sticky" on Amazon Prime. I'm an episode and a half in and enjoying it. A few things stand out -
- it's a dark comedy
- it's set in Canada (beautiful outdoor locations, small diners, different accent)
- Fast paced so far
- The story! It's loosely based on an actual heist of maple syrup!

Alex Rider on Amazon Prime
For people who love British Spy series, this is recommended. I watched all the three seasons recently. Although the protagonist is a teenager, the take on his life and how he evolves to be one of the better spies is to watch out for.
I would give it 4/5.
The Queen of the South
OTT : Netflix
4.5/5
Amazing series, each episode is captivating and takes a new dramatic turn. Learnt a lot of "Life Lessons" from this episode important of which is "It doesn't matter from where you come from but where you reach is what matters"
This is one series which I liked after "Prison Break" "Black List" and "Breaking Bad"
Paatal Lok new season to stream from jan 17.

Bandish Bandits Season 2 is not a patch on the first season.
All the actors have done a fabulous job, but the story is a little stretched and most importantly - the music is nowwhere close to what is was in season 1.
Can be avoided.
Webseries Name : Scam 1992

OTT : SonyLiv
My Rating : 5/5
This is one of the best webseries that I have ever seen. Hats off to the creative team and the director for getting this series out. Outstanding acting by Pratik Gandhi and he has lived the character. Fantastic background score by Achint Thakkar.
All supporting actors did a fantastic job as well.

As a WWF fan, this series is proving to be pretty good. Lot of inside stories and shows just how far that industry has come to.
3 episodes in and it's been a good watch.
Watching stars of childhood TV like Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker etc talk about stuff was pretty good. |
As a WW
F Attitude fan, this documentary has been an awesome nostalgia-ride, while also eye-opening!
If you have ever finished a sentence with "'cos Stone Cold said so", or interrupted someone with "It doesn't matter what you.....", do not miss this.
5/5
Webseries Name : Criminal:UK
Genre : Police Procedural
OTT : Netflix
Criminal:UK is a Netflix anthology series. Netflix had a similar one for Spain, Germany and France. Criminal:UK is a dark series and may not be to everyone's taste. It shows the morale and ethical dilemmas that the police force face and this series handles it quite well. People who like procedural dramas should definitely watch this.
