Deadwind (Netflix)
3 Seasons
My Rating 3.5
A Finnish cop drama, this is a murder mystery. Despite some major loopholes, it is a good watch. Helsinki and Finland in general were stunning.

Of all the content from Finland or Nordics for the matter of fact, Crime Drama's seem to be more popular.
Ivalo and
Bordertown are 2 similarly popular series I've seen before.
Currently watching two shows, both on Paramount+ - The Agency, and Lioness season 2. Would recommend both if you're a fan of CIA spy thrillers. Lioness is done but I'm still catching up. The agency is getting new episodes weekly.
The agency has Michael Fassbender and Richard Gere and is more subtle. Lioness is the opposite with Spec Ops and raids. I'm trying to cut down TV time but the list of shows to watch keeps growing. Next on my list is Landman.

Absolutely hooked to it as well. Stellar acting by Eddie Redmayne and most of the cast.
Squid Game 2:
Had it's moments but seeing as this is the middle portion of the series (concludes in S3 2025) it felt a bit heavy. Had me skipping many parts of the episodes.
But with all the killing and deaths I am reminded of Russel Crowe in Gladiator shouting:
"Are you not entertained??!!"
Yes yes I am :D

Thanks for your suggestion. I watched it last week and enjoyed it.
It was a typical British thriller. I would surely recommend it if you like watching spy thrillers.
Eddie Redmayne played a hired sniper, and Lashana Lynch portrayed an MI6 agent trying to track him down. The plot is a game of cat and mouse, with some high-profile targets getting eliminated.
From the given star cast, I was not able to connect with the character of Bianca throughout the series. Lashana had the same expression throughout the series, and her know-it-all attitude was simply irritating at times.
I feel that some better editing could have made the series more slick.
Squid Games season 2 is as good as the first season. We quite enjoyed it. Eagerly waiting for the final season to wrap it up.

I agree and disagree, season 2 has been somewhat similar to S1 in the general sense, its very easy to predict what happens next since it still follows a similar template. This loss of mystery has damped my review of Squid game Season 2. Will rate it 3.5 / 5

The book and the series are as different as chalk and cheese.
Earlier movies, followed the book, closely. The series has taken lots of creative liberties and wanders far away from the book.
I concur about the agent, as the book had a french detective following closely on the heels of assasin, and the movies had done justice to that role.

This is one of the best adaptation of Sherlock Holmes and the creator/director has done complete justice to the original IMHO. The background setting, the environment, the background music and the characters do complete justice. I am eagerly looking forward to Season 2. Fans of Sherlock Holmes should definitely watch this Indian adaptation.
Finished a few series in the holiday season ..
Breaking bad Finally managed to finish this. Last time I had given up in Season 1 itself. This time, decided to give it one more try.. it really gets into top gear from Season 3 and then doesn't let go till almost the end - the climax is a bit meh though.. I would rate it very good, but still not the absolute best webseries I have seen
The day of the jackal - this show has been shot really lavishly with excellent production values. I loved it, kept me engaged and several heart-throbbing moments. I did not like the lead actress though, I felt she was misfit. But, overall a great watch, 9/10 for me and looking forward to next season.
Penguin - 4 episodes into it, and absolutely loving it. both the lead actor and actress have done a stellar job, looking forward to finish it this weekend. But, this looks like a masterpiece in the making.
Senna - As someone who closely followed F1 for a long long time, this was a thoroughly enjoyable series. As I have never seen Senna race live, this was something which really helped me to understand the previous era of F1 ( I really started watching from 1998 onwards when Hakkinen and Schumacher was fighting it out). Obviously, the tragic end of Senna will make you feel really sad at the end.
But, there are some flaws - the racism and bias in F1 is shown in a very blatant way, I don't know if its true or not but it felt a bit too much and too on your face. Secondly, Senna is shown like a demi-God, with almost no faults, which is hard to believe.
Better Caul Saul - In the 2nd season now, I feel it has not yet picked up pace really, I am hoping like Breaking Bad, it will pick up pace sooner than later. It's nice and light-hearted and enjoyable but the drama is not picking up yet.
Landman on Paramount : 4.5 / 5
Loving this tale of oil exploration/extraction business, so far. Billy Bob Thornton works as a manager for an independent oil company headed by a billionaire (played by Jon Hamm). Tyler Sheridan of Yellowstone and Tulsa King fame has directed this fantastic show and you can see similarities. I am fast becoming a fan of this guy!
The series is full of witty dialogues, strong characters and grips you right from the start. Billy Bob Thornton delivers in his usual style and is a perfect fit for the job. I couldn't imagine anyone else fitting the role better. Rest of the characters too have their roles really well written and you never have a boring moment.
The series shows the on goings of oil business in rather captivating fashion. I have no idea or know how of the business so I can't find comment on how real or technically correct it is but I can definitely say as a whole the show is really entertaining.
A must watch in my opinion.

If you are a Harlan Cobeh fan then this one is for you. Harlan is known for his mysterious thrillers based out of UK locations. This has intrigued me a lot as to why an American writer always chooses a UK location and UK actors for all his novels and series made out of them.
The last one or two of Harlan's were snoozefest and this one is little better. However, there the main reason to see is the main lead actress who was there in "Slow Horses" and she did a fine job.
Harlan has this need to unnecessary create lot of twists and surprises and sometimes it works and most times it does not.
Overall, a decent mystery series if you love this genre.
