Luke Cage: Watched the first two episodes of Luke Cage last night. Pretty good. A superhero without a mask. Hope the rest of the series is as good.

re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Am almost done with John Adams, an 8-episode HBO mini-series that deals with the early years of American Independence.

My international history is quite weak (in fact, interestingly the first time I PM-ed Samurai on the forum, it was to "correct" some date of his related to the American War of Independence, needless to say I got it wrong ), so this is a good way to brush up on it.

Also watched a movie "Confirmation" based on the Clarence Thomas/ Anita Hill sexual harassment scandal that plagued the Bush Sr Supreme Court nominee. Quite well-made albeit a bit slow and some of the performances a bit stiff. I guess that's what happens when you are playing characters relatively fresh in public memory.

West World ( HBO 2016):

Saw first three episodes of WestWorld on HBO. One word, Mind blowing.

Christopher Nolan's Involvement speaks volumes. Its is based on a novel by Michael Chrichton and movie of the same name with a concept of park for users shared with Androids and hosts*

Such weird Sci-fi concepts can go down south pretty , which seems the team has handled well.

Currently at the top of IMDb charts. A must watch.

re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Started watching Madam Secretary just so that we have something to watch when kids are around It is pretty decent. Tea Leoni does a fine job as Madam Secretary. Although at times it seems to go into a repetitive loop, where in she always pulls a rabbit out of the hat at the last minute to avert a crisis.

Eagerly awaiting second season of Humans, which is supposed to start on 30th.

And too soon to talk about The Walking Dead S7E1, right?

What utter crap. Too much gore which actually kind of subdued the shock value of the episode.

Each episode of TWD has progressively relied more on outdoing the gore and grossness of the previous episode. As a result, storytelling seems to have taken a backseat.

Still, come next Sunday and I know what I will be watching!

Yeah, I'll be watching too. But this episode did not need the gore at all. The story-line had enough meat. Come to think of it, it's actually quite easy to add new characters and storylines to a series like TWD.

I will now wait for the season to finish and then binge watch. Or at least 4-5 episodes at a time, depending on how the story progresses.

Really felt bad after watching The Walking Dead S7 premiere. Gory like a Saw/Hostel movie and cheap tactics by the showrunner to keep the audience hooked.

Gave up on walking dead last season. Got to the 11th episode or so. Maybe i'll get back to it at a later stage.

Catching up on Agents of Shield and it's been fun. On S3 now and it's been very interesting.

Next on the list would be Jessica Jones.

And in between all this, staying up to date on the flash and ash vs evil dead.

Agreed. The cast is top notch.

Finished Narcos second season. Not as good as first, still watchable till the end.

As of tonight i also am at the end of third episode. Has me hooked. But i feel the need to assimilate each episode before watching the next. The questions it asks is indeed a food for thought. Though i like the Formulaic GOT, i like this kind of serial more. Nolan just ended Person of Interest (Which was awesome) a few months back and is back with another (long awaited) marvel. Hats off to him.

Got at least two of my friends hooked by the time i had seen the first two episodes.

I think the way i interpret, with other peeps commenting online is "this series is like a puzzle thrown out in the front of the viewer " Go figure...

Its fun when everyone comes up with their own theories on what it could be. There are so many theories online, its fun to read those.

re: The TV / Streaming shows thread (no spoilers please)

Got hooked onto series' so much that movies are now a second priority for me.

Breaking Bad - completed all seasons/episodes
Game of Thrones - Up to date. Eagerly waiting for S7. I normally get late for office on Mondays when the series is on.
Bates Motel - completed season 1. Have the rest waiting.
The man in the high castle - midway through season 1. Have to complete before S2 airs in mid December.
Westworld - Up to date.

Lost interest in Quantico, Supergirl and Flash midway through S1. No longer on my list.
