I have a question. We all know that "more better" and "more worse" are incorrect, although their use is spreading like wildfire. But what about "much better" and "much worse" ? Are these correct? If yes, then why "much" is right and "more" wrong?
The words more or less are relative terms, where as much or lot are standalone. Hope that makes sense, I can't explain grammatically.

Yup you're right. "More Better" is a redundancy. The word "better" itself means "more good". similarly "worse" = "more bad". So prefixing another "more" doesnt really make a lot of sense. On the other hand, "Much better" is like saying "Much more good".
Have been recieving invites from a long time now, so just wanted to ask a question about the invites!! At the end of all the Invites,is written R.S.V.P, then a name and the number , i know that is written if incase one doest turn up for that particular Event or function.
I want to know!!

It could be counter-productive in certain cultures. For example, around my place thousands of wedding invitations are given out. Last year I was at a wedding attended by 6000 people. Imagine if they all called up before showing up. :)
Desi meaning of R.S.V.P. is "Reply Soon Varna Pahuncho".
translated as "reply soon or else get there".

Just R S V P. It is never expanded, nobody wants to deal with French pronunciation.:D
I thought R.S.V.P translated to 'Respond if you please'. This is an age-old acronym.
Nowadays, with so many Yankee acronyms invading English language, I guess there is no harm in saying 'R.S.V.P. A.S.A.P.' :)

I fully agree with you. Most of the English used by Government officials today originated from clerks of the East India Company, who have royally screwed up the language.
There is a book by a guy named Sanyal named 'Hinglish'---I don't remember the full title, but it gives lots of examples. I throroughly enjoyed that book.
