Following the thread started last year, let us share our best travel photos (non-car) from year 2023 here.

Thread Rule: Please share your favorite travel photos from 2023 here, but NOT your car/bike photos (please use the other thread for car/bike photos).

Personally for me, 2023 was good for my hobby of photography. In addition to car photography, I love travel and landscape photography. This year, I got a few decent travel and landscape photos. Looking back at those photos is also a way to relive the memories of the year's travels. Let me share some of my favorite travel photos and the associated memories here.

At the very beginning of the year, in early January 2023, I did a solo trip to Bhigwan Bird Sanctuary, and did a boat ride there in early morning, looking for flamingos and other birds. Although I got a few decent bird shots, my favorite photos turned out to be generic landscapes from the early morning boat ride. My natural tendency is to shoot landscapes (or cars/vehicles/boats/planes, if available ) even if I am on a wildlife or a birding trip, and that shows in my own favorite photos of the year.

This sunrise shot at Bhigwan turned out to be one of my personal favorite shots of the year:



And so is this shot of a lone boat under sunrise:



I like this shot too of a fisherman at work in the early morning at the lake:



On a road trip through the forests of Karnataka, I loved this S-curve on the lovely forest road:

The photographic highlight of the year for me was my Ladakh trip, where I got plenty of landscape photos.

Finally, a photo I took at the very end of the year, just a couple of days ago, of this "Sunset in a Forest", at Bandipur Tiger Reserve:



So this is a summary of my travel photography of the year. It started with a sunrise photo at Bhigwan, and ended with a sunset photo in Bandipur. Quite symbolic of my personal photography preferences.

A metal hanging bridge connecting the last village of India on the LAC with China, Gelling to Bishing, Arunachal Pradesh. It is a trek of nearly 10-12 kms.
