Dear All, I would like to document my nightmare service with Meesho in trying to get a return picked up by them for a defective product. The experience with Meesho has been very very poor.
Background on Meesho -
Meesho is an e-commerce marketplace that helps suppliers, resellers, and customers trade. They are similar to Amazon / Flipkart. I have never heard about Meesho until my wife introduced me to Meesho one day. We were looking to buy a Microwave Oven stand and my wife suggested that Meesho have decent catalogue of products and it's worth looking to buy the Microwave Oven stand from Meesho. (I am still wondering who introduced Meesho to my wife

).
So, we selected the the below stand from Meesho.

We pre-paid the money. The product was around INR 550 when we ordered and we usually don't mind pre-paying the amount. We have always had positive experience with Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio etc and we never suspected nor anticipated the trouble that we would face.
The start of the Nightmare -
Now, the problem started from the day the product was delivered. The Microwave oven stand had only 3 legs and the 4th leg was missing

. We had no choice but to return the product.
So, we raised a return request on the same day the product was delivered.
- Product ordered date - 10th November 2024
- Product delivered date - 17th November 2024
- Return request raise date - 17th November 2024
Now, since 17th November Meesho are refusing to pick up the product giving one reason or another. The customer service, both Chat and Voice calls, is completely hopeless and they have offered Zero help. Meesho say they will not initiate the refund unless they pick up the product but the product also is not picked up!

17.11.2024 - Return request raised date
18.11.2024 - Return pick up scheduled
21.11.2024 - Pick up failed (You just get a message but with no reason as to why the pick up failed. Once the pick up fails, the customer has to now again initiate the pick up!)
23.11.2024 - Pick up initiated again by me
24.11.2024 - Return pick up scheduled
26.11.2024 - Pick up failed (Same story as of above)
28.11.2024 - Pick up initiated again by me
29.11.2024 - Return pick up scheduled
02.12.2024 - Pick up failed (Same story as of above)
05.12.2024 - Pick up initiated again by me
05.12.2024 - Return pick up scheduled
06.12.2024 -
Meesho auto-cancelled my return! But they say the customer did it which is completely wrong and is a lie!
06.12.2024 - Pick up initiated again by me (All the picks re-initiated by me by either speaking with the customer care over phone or over chat!)
07.12.2024 - Return pick up scheduled
10.12.2024 -
Meesho auto-cancelled my return again! But they say the customer did it which is completely wrong and is a lie!
........
and then the sequence of above events repeats itself every 3-4 days with no solution in sight as of today.
Friends/Colleagues - Please beaware of Meesho. Don't buy any expensive stuff from them at all.
I am still awaiting the pick up and the refund to happen. I am sure this saga will never end.
Meesho has been an absolute nightmare to deal with.
