War clouds hover over India and Pakistan. There are claims and counter-claims of attacks and retaliatory actions.
While the readers will watch the happenings as the drama unfolds, a little advice:
The phrase Truth is the first casualty of war" means that when war breaks out, accurate information is often the first thing to be suppressed or distorted to control public opinion. This is done by both sides of a conflict, either through misinformation, incomplete information, or outright propaganda.
So please take care not to spread any news or views that may be harmful to the society or Nation.
Thanks. Another small advice: Trust your own elected government. Trust your own Army and Genuine Army sources.
In situations when people have lost lives and families are left broken, Trust and high morale are of paramount importance.
The time of accountability and pointing fingers is not now. Internal squabbles can be settled later. Time to stand together in front of an enemy right now! Time is to stand by your nation and the families of people who have lost loved ones due to religion based terrorism.
Jai Hind!! Jai Bharat!

If true, this would be the largest loss of jets in decades. |
Perhaps it is better to wait for some time before discussing this.

Yet they continue using militants instead of terrorists.
The way of the warrior is death; this, all warriors know and embrace. The day they take that last step into the fold of armed service to their soil, they know they're already dead; their lives are forfeit and aren't theirs any longer. It is the ultimate sacrifice to stay professional within a fighting force and do one's job when one's life is subservient to a higher cause, when there are barbarians at the gate and loved ones back home.
Much less needs to be said about equipment that gets lost in service of the nation.
It is the armchair warriors (like myself, no doubt) who rant and rage about wartime losses. We ought to just let things fall into place as they may and hope for the best. If indeed we end up losing men in the line of service, then we should pay them our respects and grieve.
As Smartcat says, let's not react to each and every misinformation piece put out by the enemy.
Besides, there's no telling when the sky will start raining fire upon us civilians in India now. We've got ourselves to take care of.
While all of us get glued on to the media and TV reports that flow around us, a few things to keep in mind.
1. Keep whatever you hear from these channels to yourself and don't flood social media with these reports. The best thing to do is let the people who are responsible (Indian Govt) put out official announcements and follow them.
2. Abide by state and national laws and regulations.
3. Follow govt advisory on drills and any other activities in preparation for war like situation.
4. I would also urge some of our senior folks (esp people who have been there during war times) to educate juniors on what to do and what not to do .
5. Speak to your elders, counselors, coaches to help you tide over the anxiety and fear of war/war like atmosphere. This is critical as the younger generations have not faced similar situations.
God bless the Indian Army, and may God protect civilians on both sides.
Was chilling last night on the terrace and suddenly saw lots of action around Bandra. Felt like a storm coming. Within 5 minutes, strong cyclone-like winds hit Bombay! Things started flying on the terrace and it was quite literally impossible to stand. Had to move to the entrance.
War clouds indeed....this video was shot after things calmed down and I could get back out on the terrace. It was scary, wild. Even the Gods are angry!

Sir, you've summarized the current situation India is going through, to the point. We, the tax paying citizens, should trust the govt, defense and the bureaucracy and let them function in the way they think it's in OUR best interest. After all, we've chosen them to lead us for the next 5 years.

Sir, this reflects a lack of confidence and trust in our government and in our defense machinery.
While I’m not a defense expert—and this may not be the appropriate thread to dig into matters of defense and politics— but as an Indian citizen, I believe we must trust and should have full faith in our armed forces. They are well-equipped, prepared, and committed to defending our homeland. India hasn’t earned its place among the top five global armed forces just on paper!
Let’s stand united in support of our government and armed forces by following protocols, respecting their decisions, and trusting their efforts to safeguard our national interest.
The Hindu reported downing of 3 Indian fighter jets and I'm trying to locate it and it mysteriously disappeared in a matter of minutes.
Beware! The fake news gang is on the prowl! Remember the "Ghost of Ukraine"? He never existed.
War clouds on the horizon indeed. It's not after 54 years though, we had Kargil in 1999 though some trivialize it as a "conflict" instead of war.

I would suggest the Reuters live thread below if anyone wants to avoid the clutter of local news sites |
I would rather trust our local news channels than the likes of BBC,Guardian, Reuters, Al jajeera etc. They are experts in constructing anti India narrative. They use the term " suspected militant" or "armed gunmen" instead of terrorists. They conveniently forgot to mention that these terrorists asked names of victims to determine their religion before shooting them. We all very well know these western media agenda.
Mod Note: Just a reminder to be mindful of forum rules while posting.
Jai Hind.
India has already briefed the powerful nations of the world viz. US, UK, Russia, Saudi Arabia etc. And the statement from Indian Army clearly says we have attacked only terrorist sites, not military and civilian sites.
This will led international pressure on Pakistan not to escalate any further.
Hopefully it stays that way. Full scale war will be too damaging.
Let's be together as a nation. The nation comes first. Let us follow the guidelines of the govt and armed forces.
And most of all - stop posting every bit of development, selfies, videos of the happening, especially in the border areas on the social media. The least we can do is to show this much of sensitivity and support our armed forces. Remember 26/11 Mumbai when the live visuals on TV news channel was helping the terror handlers across the border.
