Guys, who is the best tattoo designer in India? After that, my next question is who is the best tattoo artist in India? These are two separate questions because the best person to come up with a tattoo design may not be the best person to ink it.
But i can accept that both may be the same person.

After India, i'd like to know who is the best in the Boston area.

Re: A YetiGuideŽ guide to tattooing!

There's one in Vasant Vihar, Delhi, right behind the PVR, near the parking. Met this tattoo artist a few months back. Can't comment on his work. From the pics, & tattoos on some of his clients [ apparently ], it looked ok-ish. I stayed there only for 10-15 mins checking out the place, talking to this fellow and looking at his previous work.

I am in Delhi these days, and if someone has recommendations to a Tattoo artist, I'd definitely hit him up.

Re: A YetiGuideŽ guide to tattooing!

Bumping old thread. Yesterday, came across a some programme on discovery that tatoo removal business- using laser technique- is a big boom - 30% growth YoY.

It seems long term drawbacks? leading many people to remove their tatto's.

Any personal expreience about tatto - long term issues? removal process..

Reviving an old thread. Got this done recently. This is my third tattoo and was probably the most painful one Getting a tattoo on the spine hurts like hell

Got it done here in US. It's a nautical compass. It represents a sense of direction.

I am sure in the past 3 years, many other TBHPians would have gotten some ink. Lets see them here!

Re: A YetiGuideŽ guide to tattooing!

Got my third one last year.
The first was a scribble on the shoulder blade, "S", the initial of my wife, and son as well now.
Second one was a gothic M for my own name.
The last one I got was the SAS badge:

Bumped and reviving this really old thread.

Can someone suggest me lease:

1. A good tattoo designer.
2. A good tattoo artist to draw the above design.

In
A) Goa or
B)Kerala / Karnataka

Best

Usually 1 and 2 are the same. No?
I had got my first tattoo from Bramha Studio on Church Street, Bangalore. But that was many years ago. There may be better artists there now.

In most places both 1 & 2 are same. In Goa I saw an exception in most places.

About Brahma, most suggested to avoid as it is not what it used to be! I am getting good reviews about Xtreme in Jayanagar. Though I am not sure about the cost. I need more options before taking the plunge!

Also, How much does a tattoo on one side of the leg cost? Which places are reasonable and safe? Other pointers.

I can't help you regarding places, since I am not in Bangalore anymore. But I am sure someone will chime in sooner or later. If you have heard good things about Xtreme, then check them out. Check out their portfolio (online or in shop) and see if you like their work.

As for cost, it will really depend on the design and the area it will cover.

One thing I have never done with a tattoo artist is haggle over the price. In fact I have never bothered to get multiple quotes either, not that there is anything wrong with that. But if you are worried about getting ripped off, then that's the best way to go about it.

Try Dark Arts - Pradeep. I got mine done there. Tad bit expensive than what others might be offering, but the end result is worth it. Also, he listens to you and builds on the idea that you've in your mind - let's face it, tattoo is something you take to your grave (or crematorium, as the case might be) and he totally respects that. He'll suggest designs based on your ideas and then build in it.

This is how mine turned out:

Still a bit of work remaining (add a band at the bottom).

PS: avoid Skin Deep if you can; absolutely unprofessional IMO.

This is the band I was talking about, just above the elbow:

Outline is done, filling and shading remains.
