Kaviprem Thanks, tied with office these days and surely I will put updates of my travel. I have uploaded few photos over there. Text will come soon.
This was my Fat Lady, ran 2.9 Lakh kms on this, on road , off the road ,through rivers , over mountains , forest .you name it , its gone there . Sold it in the end. Now missing it very much.
Sharing few of my best moments with my fat lady ...
@drkakkilaya
The first pic is awesome. Would love to know about your ownership experience. 2.9L is a lot of usage and would like to hear how it treated you over the years!
Cheers,
Adi

Wow 2.9 lac kms. That's a lot. I hope you get enough time to post a long term report. I also wish that my safari does atleast half of what you have done on your ride. Mine just crossed 55k kms and I'm sure there are some issues on mine that needs to be rectified

I just couldn't believe my eyes drkakkilaya. Your Safari ran for 2.9 Lakh km with you? Thats quite brilliant, just goes to show how much you would have taken care of the fat lady when she was with you.
Awesome pictures there mate. The first picture with the water splashing on both sides looks fit to get into the official Safari brochure. Keep more of pictures like these coming our way. It was a visual treat!
@ drkakkilaya, you inspire the much needed confidence for wannabe safari owners! What kind of work was done in the engine/turbo/fuel pump in this 2.9L kms?
Can you share more information on your way of preventive maintenance?
There is a saying here in Bangalore that when it comes to used vehicles, one should be lucky enough to get hold of a KA-11 vehicle. Now, I know why.:)
Can we give the best kept Safari prize to drkakkilaya ?
Great pix and stunned by the odo read!
Thanks very much. After 2.8L on one journey to chennai engine seized . we had a lot of debate in home. I was for planting a new engine but dad was not very keen as maintainance cost d ve only escalated from there. With a heavy heart i let it go. Once sold it took me some time to sink in that its not with me any more. Im writing up my experiences i had with safari will post it with the picture in some time.
Wow, awesome looking beast, I second JK, I think this would definitely be in the running for the best and longest run Safari here on Tbhp, where were the snaps taken, would love to see some more.
My friends ride.black edition.
Somehow I always managed to forget to click my ride on our trips. This time, I made it a point to get atleast a couple of pictures.
Somewhere on the ghat section as you reach Canacona (Goa)...
On the Chorao island - asked my wife to drive while I struggled with an umbrella in the torrential rain to get the splash stupid:
