Rohan looks like you have gone back up there with your 4wd do post some action pics.
Was there a difference in the drive compared to our 2wd scorp.
Yes sir I did and it was brilliant. Went to marismek and chushul. Compiling the travelogue, should be up soon.
Hello fellow Scorpio-ns,
Just did my first service (5000 kms) after completing a trip to Fort Kochi last week.
Did Red Hills in Dec-Jan and Fort Kochi in Feb.
Few snaps from our trips:
Dec 2011. On the way to Red Hills, waiting at Mudumalai for the third member of our group (Innova) to catch up.
Dec 2011. Parked in our hotel in Red Hills, lovely foggy conditions.
Feb 2012. Unloading luggage from the Scorp. This is the 8 seater with third seat removed, enormous luggage space! Nah! We don't believe in travelling light!
Feb 2012. Heading back home. Still in Kochi, I'm in the back with my GPS. GPS is set for India Coffee House in Pattikkad, 66 kms to go.
Feb 2012. In Palakkad for lunch. On the way back from Kochi.
Feb 2012. Home again, the GPS record of the trip (only highway sections).
Eagerly waiting to do a official trip to Dindigul/Thanjavur.
The big boy Scorp has been just great, I'm loving him more and more! Even my wife now is ready to take off on some trip or the other
Here is mine again after exterior polish and little tyre treatment.
And as seen from behind...
Wow I think I just might copy the tyre treatment bit, it adds a lot of character. Hope you don't mind it.

Is it just a paint job on the tyres (white colour on the letters) or something more apart from tyre polishing? Needless to mention I will follow the same for my car.
Also what model is your Hella aux lamps and how much did they cost you?

Nothing to mind about. I am glad you like it. It was just a last moment thought to paint them white and it turned out good I think.

Thanks. In fact I stopped thinking about alloys now. Saved me spending money atleast for some time. :)

Yes, letters are painted in white and tyres were polished later. Initially wheel caps were painted matte black as per plan and just before polishing tyres, I told them to paint letters white. Attached closer pic.
My Hellas are Nallas :D. They are just cheap lights I bought Rs.450 each and they do their job well as fog lights. I have three sets of headlight bulbs - Mico, philips Rallye & Essential Vision all 90/100. I use Essential in city as it gives whitish light, Rallye on highways as it has brighter and longer beam throw and Micos are just spares to be used in emergency. In brief, I do get enough light from headlamps so happy with these Hella Nallas. In future, just for a change, I might change their bulbs to branded ones.

In the first look they look like smoked alloys :)
Two pics of my 3+ year old baby...
My two cents... :D

The tyres with the white lettering looks G-R-E-A-T.
But I personally feel that you could have done without the black wheel caps. Somehow a black wheel is not suiting a white SUV, it would have looked great on a sedan or hatch. You could have opted from chrome plating instead or better nice alloys.
SUVs are not meant to look sporty, they are meant to look butch. The white lettering helps your SUV look butch but the black wheels spoil the show by trying to look sport, it looks like a mismatch. Just my personal opinion though.

Thanks Raj. Alloys have to wait for some time as for this setup - I am loving it!
Below are few more pictures as tyres are a bit older now, pasted tbhp stickers and been to Bhandardara/Shirdi last weekend -

Today I am planning to get the letters painted in the tyre and I would like to do it myself. Do you know if any specific paint type was used for your tyres?
I was thinking of getting the normal white paint that you put in doors/windows/grills and do the job but not sure of the lasting effect.

I believe it was usual white oil paint. For me, it looks better when get dirty.
