pics of my old buddy- 2.6 turbo scorpio, seen alongside is my 2.0 TCIC safari, in karnataka.

Raj, didnt realise that you owned a safari too. And the rear step on the Safari looks awful to me. Is it necessary to have that? Do you have people using the rear seats often? If yes, the additional comfort of the step wont stop them from cursing you if you seat them there too long :uncontrol.

The white colour really suits the scorpio.

many on this forum cant seem to believe that i can own a safari!
the safari is old now and rarely used by us, its more used by our company staff though i do keep every record of the vehicle. yes, the boot of the vehicle is used quite a lot. since its not used much as my personal vehicle, i have not gone much into the looks of the vehicle and hence kept the rear step.

the scorpio is my old turbo scorpio and its not white but silver.

Personally, i prefer the looks of the old Scorpio, and the DICOR Safari.

went to the scorpio website today, observed a few things:

1) creep feature: car moves ahead slowly on its own in traffic... whats this?
2) anti-rollback when in drive mode, good feature.

Most Automatics do this if the brake pedal is not kept pressed.

Creep feature is for the Automatic Transmission version of Scorpio. When the gear shift is slotted in position D the car will move at slow speed without depressing accelerator which is too good in bumper to bumper.

thanks a lot for the good wishes and tips for my new scorpio. i do apologise for not putting up the pictures as yet it has been a mad 2-3 weeks at work. i will definetly try and do it this weekend.

its been 2 weeks now since i got the vehicle and it has been put to some solid driving within delhi, with the wedding season is full flow, so driving from one end of delhi to another. already clocked its first 1000 kms.

The only drawback as such which i am facing is the gear shift when moving from 1st to 2nd, its abit stiff; hoping will become smoother as time goes on. It was a good move to get the larger yokohama tyres put, gives the scorp a much better grip when at higher speeds. i topped her out on the dnd flyover one night at about 125 kms, very steady no bounce.

Planning to hit the highway next week when i head to Punjab. Will update as we go along.

1000 kms in 2 weeks is some mile crunching, enjoy the beast, not other way to use it.

Take it easy on the right foot, the Scorp's torque and speed is intoxicating, but a little dicey above125 if you have to stop at short notice:) Awaiting those photos.

So Mr. singh, i think you are enjoying the scorpio. 1000 kms in 2 weeks is good. as ramkya said, its very easy to floor the throttle and enjoy the fantastic response. but SUVs are not meant for high speed cornering, atleast the scorpio is not. if i remember, you had bought the VLS, am i right?
nothing else will do!

my old buddy- scorpio GLX which has served me since 2003 and over 1,50,000 kms.

Ksingh, Second every word of Ramkya & Raj!! Scorpio will blaze the tarmac!! but do it in a straight line ONLY! Not in turnings(not SUV is good at high speed cornering) Please do be carfeul!! Happy Motoring.

The Scorpio is a go anywhere vehicle. Stays rock solid wherever you take it.

I too have one which has clocked 1,42,000 kms and still running strong.
