that seems to be a small sub prabhu, maybe razor wants a bigger sub in the range of 1100-1500W with a box.

Sir mine is a 10" sub. a 12 " will also fit, you need to get the box dimensions right. :)

Can you please get the dimensions for 12" sub box(like the one that you've posted) and post it.:)

I believe most 12" will work in a 1 cft sealed box.

@prabhu, thanks for the pic. I did try placing a 12" sub in a sealed box where you have the sub. But it was a very tight fit which I didn't want for 2 reasons:
1. There needs to be a bit of breathing space in front of the sub for it to perform well. I have my 6x9 coaxes fitted on the rear door, which reduces the space even more. And having the coaxes and the sub facing each other doesn't make sense.
2. The proximity of the sub to the door makes it very vulnerable in case the Scorp gets hit from behind. Risky. There is also a problem of the door rattling in case the sub is so close to it.

The only option, apart from removing/folding up the rear seats, was placing the sub under the seat facing up. But the sub & enclosure need to be shallow to achieve this. A regular sealed box with a 12 or 15 inch sub won't fit.

If anyone has other ideas, please do share. I am giving this some thought too.

I have a 2 " gap between the sub and the door. That is plenty for tight bass. The new JLs are not too deep and will fit . I cant make out how low your 6x9s are . If they are any lower that 3" from the top of the door pad, you will have issues :(

BTW you severely underestimate the build quality of the Scorp. I got rammed from the back by a police jeep going 100 kmph. All I have to show for it is a broken tail light and a dented rear door :)

One idea that is possible is 2 8 inchers under the front seats.
Another is to mount the spare wheel on the rear door, and use that space for the sub. Will be a lot of work though.

the reason i went for a 7 str insted of an 8 str was because:
1) i wanted to fit a sub
2) i rarely use the 3rd row seats
3) climbing in and out is easier through the rear door than by folding 2nd row.

i would suggest you the same. get it converted to a 7 seater.

Converting to a 7 seater is too much work. Since 90% of the time the last row of seats is not used, the easiest solution would be keeping the seat folded so that the rear space is freed up. So then I have place to plonk in a sub. On the rare occasion that I need that seat, the sub can either be detached and left at home, or, it can be kept on the seat itself in one corner.

Unfortunately, that is exactly the case with my car. Take a look at the attached pic and you'll know what I mean. I find it hard to squeeze in a small bag in there, forget a big sub! These speakers were installed when I bought the Scorp.




Oh I don't underestimate its strength one bit. But it's still not a risk I'd like to take :)

A friend of mine went offroading in his Scorpio but things did not go as planned. They were planning to cross a river and while trying to do so the Scorpio sank into the silt.

Your friend is real adventerous!!! What a stuck man!! All this without 4wd??? Perhaps even 4wd couldnt make it. Off roading is more than common sence.....best walk through and test the soil if you are in doubt.

Hope the engine was shut immediately and damage is not much as i see the engine completely submerged in water. He must accompany seasoned jeepers first before trying out such stunts.

That's a lovely picture of what not to do with a Scorp:)

I've seen many videos of off-roading and one guy gets out to scout when the going gets tough, including water before they commit the truck. This guy walked out front of a LR on a stream with a stick in hand prodding into the water and slush to test how hard it was.

Wonder how this white scorp went blind into slush!!!
