The choices are rather simplistic. If you are familiar with Maslow's principles, you wouldn't be posting this thread at all.

I choose Self Actualization.

Needs for Self-Actualization

Maslow describes self-actualization as a person's need to be and do that which the person was "born to do." "A musician must make music, an artist must paint, and a poet must write." These needs make themselves felt in signs of restlessness. The person feels on edge, tense, lacking something, in short, restless. If a person is hungry, unsafe, not loved or accepted, or lacking self-esteem, it is very easy to know what the person is restless about. It is not always clear what a person wants when there is a need for self-actualization.
Those who have followed the career or salary survey threads on Shifting Gears, might remember that I usually play a different tune. I downplay the significance of money. Follow the same policy in my company too.

Finally I came across a nifty video in FB that explains how it works. Thanks for HVK for sharing it there.

Re: More money or fame ?

Yes, Samurai, the presentation hints at a "glass ceiling" for remuneration and incentives and also says that passion can help achieve outstanding results - without even remuneration!

What I liked about it most is - apart from the content - the fluid easy style of presenting the content through animation. Important lessons on how to make presentations with slides that seamlessly belnd into each other!

If I do well and its not appreciated by management, its very likely that I will get nothing.
On the other side, If I get a raise, it means I must have done something good which my managament has appreciated.

So money for me please.

Re: More money or fame ?

with the current job hop scenario, ill take the money.

however, this may change in the future.
Like i read in someone's signature here, regarding money not being important, and just making sure you have enough of it before saying that?
Apt!

Re: More money or fame ?

I always wanted to...

I want no money, I want no fame. I want a life.

PS: Inspired by the awesome TATA Safari AD.
