My cousin ( again a foodie) had been there twice, he was all praise for thier delecious biriyani and kebabs.
I am planning to visit next week.

I bought some chicken kabebs from them.
Found them ok.
The chicken was tender and it had some coriander paste stuck on it.

That is the only thing I have bought there and didn't find them interesting enough to warrant a return.

You seem to be completely smitten by Pakvaan. It goes on my priority for next time eating out. Is it a place to go with family?

Today evening, a few of us tbhpains going to Sholay for dinner tonight. Anybody interested can join us ( around 9:30 pm)

Will try the kulfi tonight after dinner at Sholay, if time permits

How was your dinner.? Did you get a chance to try kulfi.?

"Heavenly" is the word that comes to mind.

Last evening, some of us (Mobike008+1, Ravveendra, Rajesh Rawal+2)= 6 People met up at Ravveendra's home around 8:30pm.

After completing our "discussions" at his home, we headed to Sholay for dinner around 10:00PM.

We ordered the following

Kebab Platter
Bhatinda De Kukkad-2 No's
Rumali Rotis,Rotis, Naans
Chicken Biryani
Mutton Biryani
5 Beverages

After 20% discount the bill came to Rs.2000 ( inclusive of tips) which is total VFM as it includes cold beverages too.

Kebab platter was delicious. However, the portion/items in it were a bit less.

Bhatinde De Kukkad is the signature dish here

Biryani here is quite different and i love the flavour and unique smell of it.

Overall, Sholay is slowly but steadily becoming my second home..errr is it second kitchen?:D

As it was 11:30PM when we came out, we skipped the kulfi this time.

Can we Hyderabadi's persuade Tunde kababi to open up a branch in Hyd.?

Breaking news: The branch of Tunde kababi in Ghaziabad is fake one. They have only 3 franchisee. Lucknow, Varanasi & Bangalore.

Well, firstly, are Tunde and Galouti the same kebabs? Is the ingredient Papaya for both of them?

As far as i know, Papaya is used for Tunde Kebabs for sure.

Also, you may get it in any big restuarant but, eating them from an outlet who is a specialist in these kebabs would be an altogether different experience.:)

Yes... Very Much.

Tunde Kababi has mastered the art of Shahi Galawati kebabs.

Papaya is used to soften the mutton, But these kebabs are prepared without adding any binding agent. Pure minced meat (without fat) made from thigh meat (raan ka gosht) and spices.

Here is the history behind the name Tunde Kebabi

According to a legend, one of the noblemen about 150 years ago lost his teeth. Worried that he might be deprived of kebabs he asked his master chef to prepare such kebabs that he could relish without his teeth, indicating that the kebab should melt in the mouth instead of being chewed. The result: a unique kebab that acquired fame world-wide. Later the master chef's son Murad Ali took it out of the palace. Ali was referred to as Tunda owing to his loss of a hand. So his preparation came to be called Tunde ka Kebab. Though the Nawabi era ended, Tunde ka Kebab not only survived but also became the main attraction for the locals as well as visitors to the city. Not only an uncommon name, it has a peculiar taste too. Its masala is a mix of 160 spices and the recipe a family secret. As the city expanded and Tunde Kebabs became a craze.

Guys, I have tasted their kebabs in Lucknow and they were way tastier than the kebabs that you get in Bangalore!! :Frustrati

Even their trademark Kheer is bland. .But, the brand sells!!

This is bound to happen, take the example of Karim's in Delhi. He has so many branches in NCR, but his chandni chowk branch is still the best and food is way tastier than his other branches.

Dear mobike008,

Nai mamu se nakta mamu sahi, as this hyderabadi idiom says.

betw: i have never been to bade miyan kebabs in Hyderabad, but i like Chicken Baida roti, boti kebab, mutton seekh kabab and gurda fry served at their colaba branch.I am not sure if the hyderabad branch is thier franchisee.

Please recommend any new good Buffets around Madhapur-Kondapur with a per plate cost around 200/-.

Non Veg preferred.
