Interest was updated in my passbook in last week of August. Not sure why many have not received it.

The passbook site works fine for me most of the times. I had tried with Umang app but always found that the amounts are not up to date as compared to the passbook.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

Tried to withdraw my PF and submitted the claim online. Few weeks passed by with occasional SMS saying my request is under process and will be settled shortly. And finally got an SMS saying my claim has been rejected. Upon login, the remarks say PDF file for my case cannot be opened and hence I need to submit the request again. Very hard to wrap my head around this. I have heard of physical files being lost/misplaced/not found etc. But how come a PDF file cannot be opened? To cross-check, I had downloaded the earlier submitted form and it opened without any fuss. Post rejection, I downloaded again and it opened without any problem.

One plausible reason could be that the approving officer's system might be corrupted(Maybe Adobe Reader). I wonder if they tried to open it in Chrome and failed too. But then, my second submission might meet the same fate. Sigh!!

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

Has anyone tried to visit a PF office in person? Does it help in accelerating issue resolution? My issue is specific to KR Puram (Bangalore) PF office. Although my employer is looking into it, the online response from PF office has been horrible to say the least.

No update for FY23-24 so far. Passbook was down yesterday.

Did you @vinit or anyone else get an SMS when interest was updated ?

Yes I receive sms almost every month when the PF gets credited.
There are times when they miss, but most times I receive notification.

I get the credit sms every month. My question is whether you got the sms when interest was updated.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

After a month of login errors nonsense, I finally managed to get into the passbook portal long enough to verify there's no interest credit for FY23-24 yet.

The site crapped out when I tried to download passbook pdf, and login errors again. We're supposed to trust these people with managing millions of people's money, when they can't even keep their website login working consistently.

Even I used to get login error for quite a long period of time before it started working.
But in case you are not aware of, you can access your passbook directly from this link, https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/login. Of course, you need to login using the same credentials, but it never failed to login for me, even when I was having login errors from the UAN website.

I raised a grievance for the same and got a generic template response stating that interest for FY23-24 shall be credited after the same is done by HO. Talk about non-sensical responses

My grievance was for FY22-23 - the interest for the same is not yet credited into my account

Thanks, I do have that bookmarked. The UAN site links to the passbook portal, and it has login issues too (tried on multiple browsers).

There's also a problem that password resets only work on the main UAN website, and is then replicated to the passbook portal (their stated replication ETA is 2-4 hours but it sometimes takes much longer or simply stays at 'invalid credentials' error).

It shouldn't be this hard for a subscriber to access their own account info.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

EFP interest got credited to my account 2 days back. Confirmed it via the Umang App. Much easier to use than the EPFO passbook website, where there are so many rules/conditions on what password is acceptable, that I can almost never remember it.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

EPF interest for 23-24 updated for me in the passbook. Hope it will be the same case for everyone in the coming weeks.

Edit : Checked wife’s account and interest is yet to credit there.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

If it is just to check transactions, I login using Umang app on mobile. My last interest credit says, Int. Updated upto 31/03/2024. Even the regualr website worked fine when I recently wanted to update some details for wife's account also susequently transfer her previous employer's account to current one.

Managed to check in Umang app just now (after a bit of server errors). Interest for FY'23-24 yet to be credited in my account.

Re: The "Provident Fund" Thread

What is the process to withdraw the EPF money ?
Can it be done online ? Or palms have to be greased ?
