I grew up seeing Coolwater and Azzaro Pour Homme in the bath cabinet everyday, those were my dad's favourites and I always keep a bottle of them in my cupboard (memories). Still love Coolwater :-)

Hello bhpians,
I have not used fragrances much, except a few. Typically, I buy and use only one at a time, and each one lasts me a long time, as I am a light user. Previously, I had used Antonio Banderas Blue Seduction, Jacques Bogart One Man Show, etc. Currently, I am using Ajmal Utopia EDP, which is near to being exhausted.
This time, I fancied trying out a new (read expensive) fragrance. I see the famous men's fragrances were the aquatic, fresh, citrus types. I wanted to try something different. So last week, almost on a whim, I bought YSL Kouros EDT 100 ml from Shoppers Stop at Chetpet for INR 5,100/-. It smelled different and strong to me, and I liked it. I didn't get any dirty smells from it, and after sometime, it settles into a powdery note with a tinge of honey. I think, it is a complex fragrance, and I could not best describe the experience due to my limited knowledge. The Kouros EDT experience is unlike any other men's fragrances. These are early days yet - let me see how it pans out. Fingers crossed.
The Shoppers Stop at Chetpet has a good collection of fragrances. They stock a wide array of brands and the popular fragrances. They have Burberry, Azzaro, Armani, Bvlgari, Cartier, Davidoff, YSL, Paco Rabanne, Antonio Banderas, Ralph Lauren, Issey Miyake, Gucci, Calvin Klein, etc. I don't remember seeing Christian Dior, Versace or Givenchy. I liked Burberry Brit a lot. Paco Rabanne One Million Intense felt good but it had a sweet tinge to it. Davidoff Coolwater smelled awesome. Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey, Calvin Klein Eternity, and Armani Acqua Di Gio smelled gentle and sophisticated. Finally, it came down to Burberry Brit and YSL Kouros EDT, and I went with Kouros EDT.
From my little experience, what I have come to believe is this. Fragrances are somewhat like music, art, etc., in that it is very subjective, intensively personal, and prone to mind-associations. What is of most importance is how one feels when wearing a fragrance - if one likes it, one should go for it. Reviews, feedback, and verbal expererience are not to be fully relied upon and there is nothing like personally experiencing it.
murillo.
Guys, I am hearing good praises for one perfume which is 'Ameer al oudh' by lattaffa perfumes. Has anyone tried it? if so any reviews please - as in how is the scent, different notes, projection, longevity etc
Top 3 from the collection,
1. Cartier - Santos
2. Tom Ford - Black Orchid
3. Armani - Attitude Extreme.

Hi Guys, How is Burberry London - How long does this last and how strong/mild does it remain after 2 hours or so? I have to gift this to my 70yr old uncle.

Go to fragrantica.com and read reviews there. Most of the perfumes are covered on this site.
Try Dunhill ICON and Terre D'Hermes
Brilliant, long lasting fragrances.
Thanks guys!! I will buy one of these this weekend.
Amigos,
Please suggest a good, long lasting, strong Aqua perfume.
Thanks,
Rajesh

Thanks for the suggestions. :). Bought Dunhill Icon!! It was tough deciding between the 2.
For a budget of approx 4K, which perfume [mild, but long lasting, I like Cool water by Davidoff or Chastity by Rasasi] is recommended? Should be available at Shoppers Stop.
Thanks :)
Came across limited edition Ferrari Black perfume. Was priced at Rs. 3,195 for 100ml.
Does it exist, how is it? I couldn't determine if it is original or counterfeit.
Perhaps, this is what I am referring to.
For females, which perfume is equivalent to Davidoff Cool Water? Under 5K.
TIA :)
