Why start a thread for something that's dynamic & visible to all as it is? what next, a poll?

ps: no offence meant to guys sporting cool signatures. Kudos to us for leaving food for thought.

Thanks guys! I read my signature somewhere some 7-8 years back. Hooked on to it since then.

I like one particular signature but I don't know whom it belongs to:
"I asked Mom if I was a gifted child. She said they certainly wouldn't have paid for me."

I had one more in mind for Team Bhp before the money signature:
All desirable things in life are either fattening, illegal or married to someone else. (I got this as an SMS forward some years back)

Of course I do not believe what my signature says, but it sounds funny.
I was going to change it to something else last month.
Something like:
"If you can do what I did in my avatar picture in one attempt, I will hail you."

This is regarding the picture near my handle. I had been to Mangalore last year and written my name on the sand and tried to click it just before a wave swept it off the surface. I bet you can't do it in one attempt or you know you cam and shutter speed too well.

Why not make this Best Signature as well as best avatar picture thread ? Just a suggestion if all agree.

Me too...that's because most of them are famous quotes/one-liners being re-quoted, and not 'signatures' in the true sense.

Yes. A signature should be able to describe oneself and showcase your thought.

Anyway, prior to my current signature I had something like this, MY CAR MIGHT LOOK BAD, YET YOUR DAUGHTER WAS IN IT LAST NIGHT. This was after I got myself a Xylo.

Someone who is a guest here made me change it.

Pavan, Blue Thunder,

The habit of using famous quotes as signature predates the world wide web, say early 90s. I can recall the USENET days at soc.culture.indian where I used to see some really funny signatures.

There was this guy called Prem! who used have the best signature lines. He was very famous in SCI and other Indian forums, he was probably the wittiest Indian writer then. He used to write many articles on life of Indians in America and those articles got copied into every possible Indian forums.

Good one. Copied to my Orkut and facebook

Long time back a BHPian used this, "Even hell couldn't resist our crimes, so back again". I liked it very much. Used the same for our office gang!

I don't remember the name of the member and the verbatim quote but it goes like this - " It takes few thousand screws/bolts to make a car but just one NUT to spill it all over"

Also check mine - Heard it from one of the reporter presenting 2009 raid.

+100 to what pavan says.My signature says what I follow everyday and it has paid me rich dividends also and I have a proof also for that.

^^Sometimes your preference of quotes also says a lot about your self.
Shishir if you had Transporter 1 Movie dialog :
'I always say, how a man keeps his car is how he keeps himself'
I'd know for sure you keep your car scratch and dust free and what you have to say in your signature.

Like that you see.

Some of my favorite quotes:

F50:
Do you have what it takes to step up for your car? Prove it here. This is your forum - Team-Bhp.com!

gallardo:
if you want speed,...you have to go and get it!

CruciFire:
A Devil From God's Own Country

REMU:
I Drive: HH Splendor 1999, Indigo 2004, Swift LDI 2009
SOLD: BSA SLR :-)
Wishlist: Gypsy, MM550

The last one by Remu, truely resembles to a signature, telling about his machines, past-present-future !
